Looking at a lifeless Shockwave, I've got only one thing to say...
"That'll buff right out."
Well, that was a foregone conclusion.
There wasn't any way that Grimlock was going to NOT kill Shockwave, though I did forget that he still have several accounts OTHER than Windcharger to settle. I suspect Optimus is disappointed... but not surprised.
That was probably also the nastiest way you could kill someone. Ripping out their spark and using it to obliterate their own head, before they've had a chance to go offline.
This also means Mirage is safe, as Grimlock considers that he died a good death, and his account is clear. However... Mirage won't know or udnerstand that. All he'll know is that Windcharger died, because of what Shockwave did to him, and Grimlock was there when he died.
And knowing Silverstreak, he'll have them sharing a cell. Just to make the bueblood sweat a little.
BUT... that presumes this is over, and it's NOT. Because Ravage and the Princypian Engine (sp?) are still out there. And given that Ravage disappeared BEFORE all this went down, I have to wonder if all of this wasn't just a distraction for his real plan.
"Well, he's dead!"
May I say, Awesome Effects, Coolhand!
Huh, Grimlock's going to the stockade without a hassle...
It'll be interesting to hear his thoughts on the matter.
Does he acknowledged that what he did wasn't... Well... Kosher, for lack of a better word? And why does he care? Do they allow the prisoners to use twitter?
EDIT: Oh, yeah. Didn't fail to notice Grimmy getting his 'Movie Prime' on.
That was brutal! Can Grimlck be any more badass?
"He's dead Grim."
I couldn't resist. A very nice conclusion, at least to Shockwave's part of the story. I imagine that Out of the Dead Land is far from over.
As Polencius pointed out, Ravage and that dew hickey are still out there somewhere, and the Autobots now have to go out and find them. And please remind me, are Dead End and Swindle dead? I know they fell, but I can't remember what/if anything happened to them afterwards.
Holy frag, Grimlock sure took out Shockwave in a total bad-aft manner...
Wow, GREAT UPDATE No doubt. Also, Does Grimlock have a spark collection?
I think I forsee a court-marshal in Grimlock's future...
Shockwave could have another body for him to download to.
That'd be impressive to see, considering he had his soul shoved into his face.
Which then exploded.
Sad...I simply feel sad. What a wasted life.
Prime can't be too hard on Grimlock, one less Con to guard, feed, give medical assistance. I wonder if Optimus might not feel a bit relieved that Grimlock took care of the Shockwave problem.
Grimlock's revenge is complete.
He's a total badass in this.
Go Big Grim! Wonder how the Autobots will deal with him once things cool off?
And what a way to off Shockwave. Amazing.
Great storytelling! Been reading through again from scratch, nicely done!
Good. Eat a dick, Shockwave.
"Give me your SPARK".
Always got to one-up Prime, don't you, Grimlock?
But now it's over - Shockwave's deader than disco, Grimlock's oil-lust is appeased,
and they all lived happily ever after, except Prowl with his rulebook, and Shockwave with his being dead.
(Quite a feat, Grim, cramming Shockwave's own spark down the throat he doesn't actually have! )
(Re. Grim vs. Blaster, it was Marvel Comic Blaster, who is basically giant robot Batman. )
About sums it up for me. This was definitely one that needed to die. Considering Prime likely wanted him for information (and that this prime isn't the type to execute would-be prisoners) I don't feel the Autobots are the type to do the kind of interrogation required to get ANYTHING out of Shockwave that would be useful. All that would have come from it would have been that possibility of Shockwave being rescued and brought back to what's left of the Decepticons, because he was still alive.
So, this was good. To me, there's no loss for not having him alive back at Autobot base. Grimlock is a badass. I'm quite happy.
"Someone's killing Shockwave...why do we want to stop this?"
Great use of the RX-8's folding torso to simulate Grimlock ripping Shockwave apart to get at his spark chamber. That was a suitably visceral "Grimlock is annoyed" move, and a great way to use the toy's transformation sequence to sell some Dinobot brutality.
I could almost hear the deadly calm in Prime's voice when he said he needed to know there would be no problem, too. That was actually my favorite part of the update: we all knew Grimmy would kill Shockwave in some excessively brutal way, and I wanted to know how Prime would react to that. You didn't make me wait at all. Well done, sir.
Oh, and welcome back to the boards! Life is treating you better, I hope.
