So the other day,my wife says that I'm "out of control" with all my Transformers collecting. She's never actually tried to stop me from buying anything, but quite often she gives me a dirty look and shakes her head.I'm just curious what your spouses/significant other think of your Transformer collecting.

Mine is cool with it as long as it stays in check. I mean I buy maybe 1-2 a week and most of the time they end up going to my 6 year old. Its one of those things that's easy to get out of hand with and even worse if your a completionist. Just don't take food off the table, pay the mortgage, and buy her something nice every now and then.

Well, I don't have an SO, but my parents did try to lecture me about spending money fruitlessly the other day. They soon stopped when I pointed out how much Dad spends on vintage computers, and how many Japanese and Chinese statues now adorn the living room thanks to Mum.

If I did have an SO who happened to complain, I would gradually learn to phase them out by playing You've Got the Touch in a loop in my brain.

Next time, just say that you have no problem ending your Transformers habit. You've always held a long-time interest in crack. It might actually cost less than collecting Transformers and you'll lose weight!

Of course it might involve jail time...but at least you wouldn't be buying Transformers anymore.

Don't have any significant others, but my mom does get on my case about "wasting too much money" on Transformers and my grandma doesn't understand why a grown woman like myself is buying toys, especially "boys' toys."

Both of my ex-girlfriends didn't care as long as I bought them something nice now and then and could afford to pay for the movie ticket, restaraunt bill, etc.

My wife hates it with a passion and never understands why I buy anything having anything to do with toys....Until I sell a custom, then it is ok with her. Until she spends the money and sees me ordering more parts for another ... rinse and repeat for the last few years.

My wife is okay with it, but her issue is just that they take up so much space. Once we actually have a house I should be able to display them all though. From time to time I feel like I need to cool down on how many I buy, as I really do have a lot, but I feel like if I take them out every now and again and transform them a couple of times, then its worth the money. I think she would prefer that I eventually stop buying them, or limit my purchases considerably, but I also think she's come to accept the fact it may not happen that way.

My GF is indifferent to it. But then my collection pales in comparison to alot of folks on here.

My GF is ok with it but that is pretty rare and she sometimes nags me about it. Must of the girls I dated in College hated it and always asked a million questions. If your wife hates it, you should compromise with her because you did agree to "till death do us part". Its always easier to get along....

My wife has no problem with it. I could see it being a problem if I was spending all of our money, but I'm not. And if she did have a problem with my collecting, I wouldn't have married her. If someone doesn't like you for exactly just the way you are, why would you want to marry them?

I try to moderate on what I buy, just to keep the parents happy.

My wife is an enabler. If it makes me happy, she is behind it 110%. It is a good thing I don't do drugs.

She doesn't hate it.In fact, she's the one who went out and got me my MP Skywarp. She just thinks I over-do it sometimes. The real kicker is,if she only knew how much stuff I sneek in when she's not home. Then she would really be upset.

people love my collection lol their first reaction is "HOLY SHIT!!!" then it is "Can i try one?"

lol from boys and girls, there is a reason i keep a drawer full of transformers that are junkers/figures i don't need.......does my gf have a problem with it? nope, cause she doesn't exist haha

but my parents support my hobby, my other family members are starting to accept it, which is great, my dad has gone thru two generations of transformer fans, g1 with my half brother and beast wars with me lol he takes me to the flea market where i get the awesome shit....use to, family members thought my parents were stupid for letting me to collect but they told them off and things are going good! i'll have my collection my entire life, i ain't parting with nothing, the only time i'm selling if i ABSOLUTELY must

My parents....oh wait, My Girlfriend....ohh wait, My wife supports my habit, but sometimes gets cranky. Every once in a while she thinks spending up to 20 bucks a week is a little harsh. But I make a decent living, so everything is getting paid for so I just let it go. You have to let things go. Soon she forgets and moves onto the next thing to nag about.
