One of the fun things about G1 was the idea of sub-teams or sub-groups. Like the Dinobots, Insecticons, Constructicons, etc... I'm really interested in the idea of informal subgroups. These are some of the informal groups I've made up so far. Autobot Medical Team: Ratchet, First Aid, Perceptor? Autobot Research & Development Team (or Science and Engineering Team): Jetfire, Perceptor and Wheeljack Autobot Construction Team (Or Manufacturing & Construction Team): Grapple, Hoist, Huffer, Load Hauler? Autobot Security & Defense Ironhide, Trailbreaker, Red Alert What do folks think of these teams? Any missing members on the teams? What about some unofficial/informal Decepticon subgroups? The Decepticons only really had Hook as their surgeon/medic right? Who was the Decepticon lead scientist/engineer? Did they have more then one?
Am thinking maybe Prowl for Autobot Security/Defense etc? (Been a long time since I've seen the G1 show, and my memory is rusty...) What about the Decepticon Rainmakers? I remember Acid Storm..... (And oooh, you just reminded me how much I loved the Insecticons as a kid..... )
Swerve for Science Division. Dude is a metalurgist. And Brainstorm, of course. There's a LOT of Autobot scientists.
Since Jazz was the head of Special Operations, I've always imagined him having a small team of Autobots with certain abilities, like Mirage with his invisibility and Hound, with his tracking skills. Maybe Trailbreaker, since he could pick up 'Con signals in MTMTE, plus has has a force field.
Science Division: Jetfire, Perceptor, Beachcomber, Swerve Engineering Division: Wheeljack, Grapple, Huffer, Bulkhead Tactical Division: Prowl, Ironhide, Hound, Trailbreaker, Getaway, Smokescreen, Red Alert, Springer, Streetwise, Espionage & Recon Division: Elita 1, Goldfire, Mirage, Punch-Counterpunch, Bumblebee, Cosmos, Sandstorm, Sundor Communications Division: Blurr, Blaster, Cosmos, Rewind, Steeljaw Command Division: Optimus Prime, Ultra Magnus, Jetfire, Prowl, Grimlock, Sky Lynx, Jazz, Ironhide, Hot Rodimus, Springer, Impactor, Wreck-Gar, Silverbolt, Hot Spot / Zone, Elita One, Goldfire, Sgt. Kup, Hound, Blaster, Rapido Demolition & Sabotage Division: Jazz, Mirage, Brawn, Twin Twist, Topspin Infantry Division: Sgt. Kup, Silverbolt, Sideswipe, Sunstreaker, Cliffjumper, Powerglide, Tracks, Warpath, Arcee, Ramhorn, Windcharger, Hot Rod(imus), Blades
I reimagined the Deluxe Insecticons as a group of scientists. Thats not really the theme of the thread but its in answe to the OP' question about Decepticon doctors. Barrage is the Weapons specialist Chop shop is a Surgeon Ransack is an engineer venom is a chemist
Hmmm what about "policebots" ? Magnus as the leader Prowl as the second in command Streetwise as the third in command Chase as the forth in command Ratchet as the medic fix-it as a secondary medic And first aid as a third medic
Headmaster assault group:Galvatron Cyclonus Scourge, Sixshot, The 5 decepticon headmasters, and headmaster sweeps. Not g1 but I also have these (Movie) Target interception team: Lockdown, Stinger, Barricade The "Poor mans Optimus group:" Nemesis Prime, Black Leo, Armada Scourge & darkwing (black jetfire), RID Black convoy and Prime nemesis.
I always liked the Decepticon team sent in to retrieve Thunderwing in Marvel UK. Quake Ruckus Crankcase Flamefeather
You have guys like Preceptor who fits the traditional "scientist/smart guy" trope, Wheeljack who is more of an engineer/inventor and then you have Brainstorm, who is kinda both.
