I apologize if this goes in non-transformers discussion as it's kind of only loosely related to transformers, so if it doesn't go here, I apologize, I wasn't 100% certain. I'm a bit of a fan of crossovers, so I've done some research on how certain other hasbro properties intersect with the Transformers canon. I know there's all those crossovers with G.I. Joe in the comics and the references the G1 cartoon, as well as the fact that apparently "A real american hero", "C.O.P.S." "Gem and the Holograms" and "Inhumanoids" are all part of the same canon as the transformers G1 cartoon(also I just discovered that Hector Ramirez connects all of them but C.O.P.S.), the off-mention of "M.A.S.K." in Prime, a supposed canceled crossover between several hasbro-licensed cartoons, and that Unit-E comic that may or not be the aforementioned crossover... There's also the fact that most of Hasbro's other robot-based properties are alternate universe versions of transformers... Also apparently M.A.S.K. and V.E.N.O.M. wound up being part of GI Joe and Cobra respectively... However this all leads me to a few questions: Why was there no mention of M.A.S.K. or the first My Little Pony cartoon in Vector Prime's answer? I can understand that the My Little Pony cartoon was primarily set in a purely fantasy-based setting of a questionable location(another universe? A distant land? etc.) but why was M.A.S.K. left out? This is especially troubling if M.A.S.K. was supposed to share continuity with G.I. Joe. Furthermore, Unit-E featured Candyland, which left no logical reason to completely exclude MLP this time around, especially when there were images of Transformers and G.I. Joe in the comic, in spite of them not actually being a part of the comic. I can only find one scan related to this however, does anyone know if MLP appears in the comic at all? As far as I am aware, it seems that outside of some toys in transformers, non-canon Hub Network commercials, and non-canon imagery in the IDW transformers and MLP comics(as well as an action figure of optimus prime), and a canceled part of the G1 MLP Movie(or at least so Buzz Dixon claims), the MLP franchise has actually been pretty distant from the rest of the hasbro properties in stark contrast to all of the more canon crossovers between the rest, taking Unit-E into consideration that is. Also, is the M.A.S.K. agent fowler mentioned the actual organization, or was it just merely a reference? I'm not even going to touch the issue of crossovers with other companies as it seems like it involves a lot of clashing multiverses(for example, the marvel transformers comics AND the marvel UK transformers co-exist in the marvel multiverse AND the transformers multiverse, with the IDW transformers crossover with New Avengers and IDW's Infestation crossover only further complicating matters...and trust me, the marvel UK transformers comics crossovers makes things complicated enough as it is...)
The real world human being who was actually writing the "Ask Vector Prime" answers either forgot, or it wasn't part of Hasbro's master plan at the time. Or perhaps there was a space-time anomally that prevented Vector Prime from seeing those parts of the Multiverse. Or a wizard did it. Yeah. Probably a wizard.
Considering as I said before, the MLP franchise has been pretty distant from the rest of the hasbro multiverse, use of that sort of logic would honestly not surprise me lol.
That's not too hard to explain - Vector Prime specifically noted that those CARTOONS were part of the G1 cartoon's larger continuity. The MASK *cartoon* wouldn't have been - it wasn't made by Sunbow, the property was only acquired by Hasbro in the 90s, and the stuff that's been done with it in its vague relation to G.I. Joe doesn't reflect the concept's treatment within the cartoon. If MASK even exists within the G1 cartoon continuity - because while it has relation to G.I. Joe, it doesn't necessarily have to the the Joe cartoon continuity it's related to - it wouldn't be strictly the same MASK as appears in its own cartoon.
Yes, I'm sure that's not the only one that either slipped my mind or I didn't know about though. That makes sense I suppose, if it wasn't Sunbrow's it would indeed be difficult to consider it part of the same canon.
While not owned by Hasbro, Hasbro puts out the toys now of Marvel superheroes. In the Marvel G1 comics, Spiderman guest-starred in #3. SHIELD also had a cameo. The Dinobots/Shockwave were found in the Savage Land.
That's actually not the only transformers crossover they did apparently... Beastformer - Transformers Wiki Yes, well I'm still not going to talk about that because of the vast amount of headache-inducing issues involving multiverses and crossovers. Honestly it's all I can do to not think about it...
