The figure's hip joints seemed ok and then of course after posing him the left leg post broke away from the ball shaped piece at the top of the leg. The upgrade kit is on the way but I successfully super glued the post back on and it is holding fine. I have handled the figure since then and there are no other major problems. Most of the joints that are ratcheted are fine as is but the springs in the forward and back motion ratchets in the hip joints needed to be stretched out a little to make the clicks tighter. This also needed to be done for the outward ratchets of the hips. With these large figures most of the time if a ratchet joint feels loose just stretch the spring a little and you are good to go. See images below of what I am talking about and modify your figure at your own risk.

Shockwave arrived and decided to post him from a distance with the rest of the cast... officially out of room now.

Was it easy to get the leg apart to even begin this? The hips on mine are simply too floppy.

Are there any significant changes in the 2nd batch?

When you have each leg hip joint unfolded as shown in the screen grab below just remove the screw that attaches the folding hip joint to the ball shaped piece at the top of the leg. If your figure is not broken then the post that the screw came out of is part of the ball looking piece at the top of the leg. Grab the leg near the ball and pull the post out of the hip joint. See the repair video also below for reference.

Ben's review is up and it looks like he has received the second batch version:

    Some changes I've noticed:

    1. The inner part of the shoulder now supposedly has a new screw/ball bearing

Most likely to keep the arm upright as we've seen before; it doesn't drop down once in Ben's review by the looks of it

    upload_2020-7-19_15-3-9.png

    2. The new parts have already been installed on the second batch.

Going off the pictures, they've already installed the ball bearings too. The second batch has them consistently installed compared to the previous video showing off how to replace the parts

    From the front:

    3. The paint

I mean yeah, just watch the review. He's much more purple than his first batch brethren. Again the paint was also mentioned in that previous Baidu forum and this just confirms it.
It also seems like it is a sturdier figure all around :D

I was staring way too close at that video to see if I could spot those changes (I didn't, so thankyou for pointing them out in stills). Definitely seems like Ben's is a V2, and it seems like it's quite sturdy - at least in terms of staying in one piece (less so in terms of staying upright, but that can be addressed).

And that purple... I don't care if it's not accurate - it's glorious! Especially on the "ribs" of that metal chest piece.

That 2nd batch version looks beautiful with the vibrant colors and looks much more stronger in the joints to hold a pose.

Were the joints really that weak in the first batch? People were mostly addressing the faulty hips.

I dont know. I ordered mines months ago. I was just happy to see it arrive from China. Had I have known I would have waited. My shockwave only stands by using his gun as a cane/crutch. I will never transform him.

I have a first batch version and all the joints are fine.
Most peoples issue (aside from the hips breaking) was that the cannon arm was too heavy so he couldn't rase it but mine is fine.
Other than that the ankles are loosely pinned when they should be ratchets so it throws off the balance.

Well I feel much more onboard with that vibrant paint job now and should be able to handle a V2 without fear of it falling apart. Now it’s just a matter of when- if ever- show z will be able to actually ship one to me.

do you guys think that he is small next to BA Prime?
I want him, but Exquisite Megatron will be taller and I fear that would be inaccurate

Ex. megs will be same height i think. BA prime will work well but to me Prime's torso should be smaller than Shockwave. Ba prğme is just too bulky for me.
