TransFans has a couple bits related to the fix here and here. As usual I can't read the language, and the Google translation of the former is a little questionable. It looks like the bearings that @williammmw pictured are to stop the hinge piece from splitting by better distributing the torque of the pitch hip joint. So if they have that AND have made the actual peg that joint operates on a stronger piece, it could very well solve the issue completely.

But that's only a guess based on pictures. If anyone can reliably translate, surely there's more info to be had from those.

According to what he said, the change is from ratchet to bearing, but the V2 material is the same as V1, so it will break too... bad news.

There's no guarantee it will break but there's also no guarantee it won't.
Just depends on how much you want it and if you can put up with ordering replacement parts of it does break.

 

Half their factory is probably going to be used for just replacement parts given the track record.

 

Well, in the end I managed to order my copy on Aliexpress sale for like 78$ (with box). Estimated delivery time is 3 months   it would suck hard if I waited so long only to find out that he is broken out of the box but what can you do   at least I didn't pay much and the seller is somewhat trusted

and by "trusted" I meant that I had 2 orders from him before and they turned out great. He also assured me that he's going to secure the package well before shipping as well as send any replacement parts required but well, time will tell

I have $89 in credit at ShowZStore, where this OSKO Shockwave is in stock. I'm debating putting up a few extra bucks and getting him.

But I also have SS Shockwave, and ShowZ has his upgrade kit for about $38. I'm not particularly married to the character, but if I buy the OSKO, I'll have him in both SS and OS scales; I also have Optimus and some other characters in both thoses sizes.

Good News, my eBay seller can’t get new parts but he gave me a partial refund and let me keep the item, so I got this guy for about $28. It’s not all good tho, I decided to super glue that one thigh back on and it can still rotate forward and back. Unfortunately, that thigh is soooooooo loose that keeping him standing is a balancing act sometimes. Overall, for the money I’m happy with my purchase and will probably try to figure out a way to tighten his hips
