Yay! I was someone who pulled the trigger before the leg reports started flooding in (I'm a massive Shockwave fan, so I kinda had to) glad to know that a fix will be issued. I wonder if they'll ship the oart out to everyone who ordered the first batch, or you'll have to go through the whole request process like normal. But will it be the same part? Or diecast, if its the same part, thats a bit disappointing...

 

Why not playtest before release, and save all this effort?

Saw this in one of the selling thread in China

In point no 6, apparently the second batch will cancel the hand painted weathering effect and replace it with metallic paint

Point no 5 is talking abt the replacement which was posted yesterday, so I'm glad about it. Furthermore some thread in Baidu I saw that user mention the replacement part will be made of nylon, should the the same material found in LS13 leg

 

This is a damn shame   I wonder if they'll go to ZS-01S or something like that or just leave it as it is.

 

Maybe the idea is to get closer to that brighter purple they had in the first picture?

 

The more I think about it, the more I wonder just what "part" exactly they're planning to replace. If it's just the "orb" at the top of his thigh, that will transfer the problem to the hinge it connects to. If it's just that hinge, the orb will still be a problem. So unless that whole piece is being redesigned to be at least partially metal...

Other than that, I'm honestly liking the prospect of the metallic paint. I mean, sure, the hand-painted one looks kinda neat in this case, but I've always preferred a clean finish on my 'bots.

 

That is a shame. Almost makes me want to buy him now. Would be nice to see what the alternative paint will look like first.

Got the figure on the way so I'll request the replacement part anyway just in case.

A shame these companies fuck up the first batch and then make fixes AND then improve the paint in the 2nd  

 

And if you don't preorder and there is no 2nd batch then you're fucked.

 

I mean technically if it was bad in the first place you wouldn't want to get it

 

If the product is bad and they don’t want to do a fix, let it die off. If they actually fix the mistakes then they stick around. I won’t support a bad product so it supposedly might get a fix later. Fix it regardless or say goodbye to my money.

My copy arrived yesterday.
I loosen the screw at hip during take pictures and play with him.
Hope my Shockwave’s legs will not break soon and looking forward for replacement part (if my local shop have a chance to got replacement part).

 

That first one was most certainly hand painted so if they want a brighter purple they should simply use a brighter purple paint.
I really hope this new painting method doesn’t turn out significantly inferior to the hand painted ones because I’d prefer not to have to repaint it myself but I guess having the assurance that the legs won’t explode is welcome.

Makes me wonder if this is a compromise to offset the cost of having to remake the leg joints and post them out to all the 1st-batchers.

I PO’d but Show Z doesn’t seem to be shipping it yet so not sure which batch I’ll be getting.

Huh. I ordered one through show Z and it's on a boat now coming this way. I may have preordered, but if so my preorder was very close to when it was released. I did enquire early on about shipping as it was listed as an order and not a pre order, but I hadn't received a notice it was shipping. Don't know if that got mine going earlier than it might have or what happened.

 

Mine is coming from ShowZ aswell and is also on its way, but I purchased mine when it still sayed "pre order" so it might be due to that.

 

Where do you guys live? and was there no mention of additional shipping costs?
I waited a few days, maybe even a week before PO’ing so that could have something to do with it but I’ve also had things just show up from Show Z with no email.

Really want to see how the V2 turns out though. If there’s a noticeable difference in the paint apps then people are gonna be miffed and it could go either way.
