I know we're all hoping ours won't break when it comes but it's great to know people in teh community are already getting down to ways on fixing it.
Although not buying a product is a great way to tell a company their products are insulting to the buyers and need to be changed, unfortunately many of us have been waiting on a big DOTM Shockwave for nearly 10 years now and in the Transformers world of collecting (a lot of the time) if you don't get it at retail, it'll cost you much more on the aftermarket and this thing's already too expensive for what it is.

 

No need for FOMO with a black mamba product. There will be plenty on the after market at normal prices, especially with the QC issues.

 

The reviewer did offer one solution for the QC issue or say engineering issue, don't buy it! Lol this is such a "bad" review. He did even want to transform it.

Now I am wondering if other ko companies will do a better job and release their version of it. And just a thought, does UT's worm head/stage that comes with dragoon imply anything?

 

You would think it would indicate something as far as a Shockwave figure goes...but if it does, it probably won't be until after they finish their Galavtron...I definitely wouldn't mind seeing their take shockwave

Like any mass produced item there's bad ones and good ones.

I mean, have there been reports of other breakages aside from the hips? Other than just one arriving with a broken ear there doesn't seem to be anything else. Perhaps it is still just a matter of getting replacement parts.

 

Saw this in Baidu. My regular seller also mentioned that there is a revision to the mold but not sure if the connector piece is replaced with metal

 

I was planning on getting this guy either way, but if this is true it makes me glad I haven't pulled the trigger yet.

 

If the above is true... all they need to do is supply retailers with the replacement part to send out to people who bought the first release, and they'll be well on their way to establishing the brand as one people want. Even without that, a running change like this is still a positive step - albeit a bit of an "up yours" to early buyers, even if it winds up costing more for the 2nd run.

Very curious to see how this pans out.

 

I keep wanting to purchase this guy.... But I'd be purchasing and needing to wait until shipping is free again, so may as well wait to see whether a fix is issued or not.

Didn't something like this happen with UT's Challenger? They made a 2nd version that fixed the issues that came on the first? It definitely happened with DF's ROTF Megatron and none of the V1 buyers were compensated for the issues.

 

But those figures didn't have legs shearing completely off due to a manufacturer error. Only time will tell what happens I suppose.

 

well now, that’s great news and that’s all this guy needed is revision fix now I’m interested again looking forward to the 2nd batch.

I also hope with the revision they strengthen his cannon arm and ratchet his ankles.

 

They doubled up on the paint and tweaked the joints, yeah. There's also the more recent V1/V2 deal with JX-01 Winged Dragon, MB-06 Power Baser, and likely other, less obvious ones as well. But, as Hexatron mentioned, those weren't critical fixes - they were welcome changes made between production runs. Faded paint, a loose ankle, or the "wrong" colour thighs are a little more forgivable.

Good points. They really are different levels of issues.

 

Looks like people who got the 1st batch will also be taken care of. I'm very glad to see this because on 15/06 Aliexpress sale starts so I may get this for a good price.
