Anyone watch tonight? Way to many montages. Stewart was very good, a little to intelligent for the crowd though. Nice work sticking Stephen Colbert in the fake campaign ads. Also, whoever those guys were than won best song were the happeist bunch of bastards ever to appear on that stage.

Oh, and I know she'll never see this but that woman who adapted Brokeback Mountain needs to get off her high horse. She was the snobbiest person I have ever seen. Lady, you write a movie about gay cowboys. Wait, scratch that. You ADAPTED someone else original idea and MODIFIED it into a movie about gay cowboys.

I liked how Stewart made it all up on the sot for the most part. Also, the intro was hilarious. Halle Berry: "You think this isn't a dream?" Comedy Gold. And Stewarts Gay Cowboy montage. I can't beleive that that weird ghetto balet won best song instead of that great one from Crash. A great show, and refrshingly short.

I actually watched most of it surprisingly. Stewart was fantastic. I've seen most of the movies that were up for best picture, and Crash was most definately the deserving winner. Walk the Line and Brokeback were also exceptional movies, but not quite up there with Crash.

I thought that was Rob Corddry.

The bit with Tom Hanks getting worked over by the band cracked me up.

I found Stewart quite funny with all that fake lobbying footage of the editing and sound category, along with the opening footage. The Tom Hanks getting whacked with the violin was priceless as well. Overall, I found the show enjoyable to watch and to boot, it finished right in time for my local news!!:D  Frankly, I was suprised to see Crash win since among film critics it seemed to be a tight race between Brokeback and Walk the Line. Might have to go check out Crash and see whether or not it'll enlighten me sociologically-speaking.

And oh yah, Ang Lee for the win!! Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. :thumbs2:

    GO 台湾 GO!

I was surprised that there was no sweep... Guess it was one of those years that any movie nominated had the possibility of winning...

Good ol' Stewart. Loved his jokes. Also really cool to hear Colbert's voice durring those mock campaign adds. :)

    just read the news.

i'm surprised crash won best movie. i thought it was good, but i didnt think it was that good. still i'm not sure who i wouldve voted over it tho.

brokeback won best score? i actually thought it was the weakest amongst ang less previous movies due to its sparseness.

the capote guy won eh? good for him. hes been known as a character actor for awhile now and its good that the oscars reward guys like him for perseverance alone.

Decided not to bother watching it this year, as I hadn't seen any of the movies nominated for the major awards and because I find Jon Stewart grating and not the least bit funny. Did check the final awards list though and was disappointed to see "Batman Begins" didn't pick up any of the technical awards it was nominated for. "King Kong" also shouldn't have gotten the visual effects prize, given the issues with the CGI in some areas; "Narnia" would have been much more deserving.

I'm just glad Wallace & Gromit: Curse of the Were-Rabbit won for best animated movie. That's all I cared about...

I'll be downloading it later solely for Jon Stewart. From what I heard, the audience didn't get on too well with him. Apparently his confrontational humor wasn't quite their cup of tea. Fuck them anyway.

Jon Stewart was, for the most part, great.

The awards themselves, not so much.

Well, apparently there's been a bit of post Oscar fallout...

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/4770262.stm

Basically Tom Hanks got enlisted to do a DVD (which got handed out to all Oscar nominees) explaining how to accept an Oscar. Presumably the organisers wanted to keep the format the same, and not have actors going nuts on acceptance.

Anyhoo, Halle Berry's lawyers sent him a legal letter complaining about the way Halle Berry was made a fool of on the DVD...

I too failed to watch the Oscars. And surprisingly the world's kept turning without me caring one iota.

I didn't watch it, then again I didn't watch a single movie nominated for anything major except Walk the Line. The people that nominate things have gone off their rocker, and Ang Lee WTF? Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, then you RUIN the Hulk, and now Gay Cowboys? Again WTF?
