I might consider looking for this guy on eBay at some point - I'd LOVE to see a TF show/toyline with a design aesthetic like this guy.
Although.I.admit I was smitten about this toy & its aesthetic when I first saw this I have to admit that a G1 identicle articulated toy is still at large & I would buy it in a heartbeat! Some may say the Masterpiece Primes look like the toon but even know I have both copys, MP-01 & MP-10, from both Hasbro and TakaraTomy, I still find there to be something missing. Don't get me wrong they are GREAT figures and pretty damn close to the cartoon look. BUT I think if they reworked his legs to have his wheels flip inside his calf's and maybe re do the windshield chests a bit, and if they make a line of these butmke them a little more playable in size (but not look small) then HasTak might have something there. And yes having a hyper articulated G1 toon Prime (like how close the Matty VOLTRON action figure was to the source material AND that playability) would be "my bag baby yooowww"
Why not just use MP-10 or MP-01 OR Ultimetal Optimus, or a Gohkin, I'm glad he looks different. It makes me actually wanna buy him and adds something to the collection.
This is the first bit of ANYTHING I have ever seen that said anything positive about the Matty Collector Voltron. I never even saw a review video where the reviewer could get the thing to hold the Blazing Sword and have its arm outstretched.
OriToys Optimus Prime - Colored Prototype Images - Transformer World 2005 - TFW2005.COM Help me out someone: are we gettin the little dude and they just made a big one for the fun of it? Or are my eyes tricking me and the big one is what we're getting with a small one? I suck at scale
Wait there's a legend's scale one too? Damn, I might pick up both after seeing the paint job on this, it looks great...
I do not understand the appeal to the aesthetic they chose with this design. It looks like a scrunched down Dreamwave plus IDW mash up. This is not for me.
i was hoping it scaled with Acid Rain figures and had the same paintjob. These figures are getting kind of ridiculous. first the hot toys one, this one, and we have a 3A one coming out. They are all going to end up the same style. Why not buy the MP-10 instead?
He looks like he was subjected to a head on car crash in vehicle mode and never had the damage repaired. He just goes on living with the shitty damaged abdomen.
I like it. Not the biggest Optimus fan, but I'd be all over a pose-able, high-quality, non-transforming figure of any of my favs.
I'm honestly more interested in the background than this Pat Lee-looking thing. It's similar to the Titan Wars background that gave us our first look at that line. Is this hinting at other figures they're going to do? Megatron and Bumblebee? Do Unicron and the Matrix have any significance or are they just decorative? Also, it's funny how the Optimus in the background seems based off MP-10 and not this DW-inspired one.
Give me a good reason why I don't buy Weijiang's MPP10 over this one? MPP10 is probably same size as this one, can transform and maybe even cheaper...
Well this is turning out very nice. It's super-cool. I don't think I'll get Optimus but I hope they do more characters because I'm sure I'll go for some of the other guys that look like this if they are in scale with this.
