I'm good with CDs, but any way to get the best audio quality possible is fine by me  

 

Super stoked! Just ordered the score to the movie on vinyl and was thinking how great it would be to get news of this very thing as I finalized the order.

 

That was my immediate thought too. I wonder if they're really providing the real soundtrack (didn't Rhino claim the master tapes were really wrecked?) or appropriating his work with a subtle legal threat if he interferes.

 

What if they are secretly remastering the series and are planning to release it alongside TF:TM on bluray?

Sony's suspiciously involved a lot with Transformers cartoon.

Jimbo's work would not be in vain as we have no idea if everything will be released. I think the work being done to remaster the G1 music is very thorough identifying every bit used. No way to tell right now what is in the set. I will pump the brakes until I get more info about this release. It is very promising though.

 

It'll be nice to finally hear this music in full stereo. I don't know how many times over the years when I'd have various bits of the background music in my head or watching episodes wishing I could hear it uninterrupted through speakers/headphones. I hope the mastering and everything else turns out well.

 

Looking forward to this. I hope it has the tracks from all three seasons, too.

 

  WOW! YES!! FINALLY!! The original TransFormers series music will be mine! I hope all three seasons of music get released, as each season has a different style.

This music is ICONIC to me, being a part of my childhood, as much as that of the '86 TransFormers Movie. The Optimus Prime trumpet/horn fanfare and the Autobot theme are my absolute favorites, and I love the Vince DiCola inspired third season music, as well as the shared GiJoe background score.

I've watched the old 1970's Dan Gilvezan SpiderMan & Friends series on NetFlix and the background music in that series is also very similar. That show even has the precursor to the Autobot theme in it. Has anyone else ever seen that series and listened carefully to it's score?

It's such a surprise that this will finally become a reality, I don't really care too much about the price, I just worry about it's availability. I wouldn't want it to be rare like a "limited run" sort of thing or super exclusive. With this new release, I wonder how this will be packaged; individually or as a set? Honestly, only the music from GiJoe & TransFormers interest me, but I'll buy it all if there's no choice.

  Robert J. Walsh, Johnny Douglas, Ford Kinder, and Amy Bryant are all unsung musical heroes and co-creators of our beloved G1 Series and I'm grateful to them for their music which has provided us 30 years of epic fun & good memories. They all deserve the fans' respect, and a place in the official Hasbro TransFormers Hall of Fame. And thanks also to Sony Records & Hasbro for this.

This is exciting, unexpected news; I can't wait to finally own this and listen to it, at my convenience, in crystal clarity. Having this in restored 5.1 stereo is gonna be AWSEOME and can't be too soon!

I really hope this is released on vinyl for the audiophiles out there. However, if it's going to include a DVD with commentary, I'm not gonna get my hopes up. I'm sure it will be more convenient to offer it as a CD/DVD package and call it a day. I hope I'm wrong, and both formats are released.

 

Wait... fully restored from the original masters? AND they're doing Jem and the Holograms!?

There are few things I love more than robots... but music is among them, and this music, as cheesy as it sounds, informed some of my earliest formative "taste" in music - an influence that, albeit mild in adulthood, still can be detected in my listening habits to this day.

I will be rocking these whenever they come out! O_O Gimme gimme gimme.
