Hey guys, I decided to create this thread because I had something very specific in mind: Armada Costco Optimus Prime + TCC Astrotrain + Uni Sentinel Maximus At first I just thought about asking for that. Then I realized you could do this with lots of combiners. Replace certain parts with repaints or something else that fits. Slightly like Powercore Combiners. I saw someone for instance put the Fansproject Crossfire on an Energon Bruticus Maximus. you could expand even on that by replacing Explorer and Munitioner with Warcry and Flameblast. And so on and so on. So, lets see some!
Seeing as everything you've mentioned is more or less designed to attach to the figures you've mentioned, I'm a little confused. But yeah, it's pretty cool to play around with colorschemes that way to get the one you like best. Sometimes, just sometimes though, you get combinations that don't seem like they were in the original design specs, like classics astrotrain + cybertron jetfire's "shuttle carrier" combined altmode.
I actually do this and use the less combation colored limbs to go with it, I do that cos to me that toy makes a pretty poor bruticus but I can pass it off as another combiner, like ruination or some one I have less connection to. Not exactly what this topic is asking about but I've always wondered if the g1 Aerialbots and combaticons got some members mixed up or something. Blastoff not really a combat unit and the Aerialbots all basically the same so a bit boring, also the Aerialbots seemed to be the only combiner group of the orginal 4 scrable city ones that did have big extra bolt on weapons for the limbs. So I got to thinking, maybe vortex and blastoff were meant to be Aerialbots and two of Aerialbots should have been combaticons, I mean really jets are combat units to that work and both vortex and blast off are capable of air travel.
