In universe we know that the origin of the Decepticon symbol is the Fallen's face. What we don't know where the Autobot symbol came from. [/IMG] Slug has an Autobot symbol meaning he is an Autobot. But given their forms the Dinobots may very well be direct creations of the Creators. In the G1 cartoon the origin of the Autobot symbol is that of a slave brand. Alpha trion took that symbol and made it a symbol of freedom. It is possible that the Autobot symbol came to be after the Fallen's uprising or... The Autobots took this symbol that the Knight wore and made it their own. Not knowing what it originally meant. Hell the symbol could very well mean autonomous robot hence calling themselves Autobots.
They could introduce the Last Autobot as the Knight that lead the rebellion against the Creators. He died and then they started using an insignia based on his face as an homage.
You honestly think that Michael bay and ehren Kruger would have thought about backstory in that way? They just put an autobot sign on him because he fights with the good guys. Seriously, this isn't lord of the rings, you should give up thinking about it in that way. You will only be disappointed otherwise.
I honestly hadn't even noticed Slug has an Autobot symbol on his head in the movie..that's awesome. Sorry, I know that's not really the reason for this thread.
