I've just been watching a few episodes of TFA on YouTube and noticed that sometimes Prime's alt mode is a full on fire-truck and sometimes just a cab. It seems to be pretty random, do you reckon they're nodding back to G1 Prime's trailer just disappearing? Also, does this mean their could be an ultra/leader class version of Prime to come with the fire truck trailer?

 

From what I've seen, they're actually trying to avoid Prime's trailer issues of G1.

For instance, he had his trailer after he reformatted, but after he transformed, he lost it. Fast forward to ep 4, he has his trailer so-as to complete his disguise and fool the Angry Archer.

I think he only has it when it's nessesary. Since it looks pretty much useless other than to add to his disguise.

 

i wish there was a clearer explanation too. i agree with split lip, i think it is just part of the disguise when he needs it...i also think it is pretty funny considering the disappearing trailer from G1...maybe this is a legacy prime will never live down.

I notice when he has the trailer and TFs to robot-mode, it disappears, but when he TFs to vehicle-mode, it does not reappear.

Personally, I think he looks much better with it than without and hope we get a Prime w/ trailer toy at some point in TF:A's run.

 

In the toy, doesn't the axe fold over to become the trailer/water gun?

 

Yes, but it's not the full trailer that you see on the show.

 

It almost looks in some of the thoy images that the "trailer" forms a kind of jetpack looking thing. I wonder if it detaches completely? Maybe Prime just doesn't have that part yet in the show and the scenes with the full trailer have been an oops?

 

Seeing as how many toys of prime we're getting.
I'm sure one will have a complete trailer.

 

should have just made him a regular semi then or a smaller firetruck like the ones you see at air ports. Come hasbro if you dont want to make trailers dont put them in your show

We aren't gonna be getting a full trailer for Prime.

I'm fairly certain Hasbro has said it isn't cost effective to keep producing trailers or something like that.

 

uh, uh, yeah we are. prime will have the back part of the truck (i dont want to call it a "trailor") its the Axe/blaster thing that makes up the rest of it-that is the "trailor" and as we've seen, it comes with that part.

but i really wish they had made it part of him at all times.
