Well it could easily be that maybe the director of the commercial prefers the Bayverse design over the new one and also could be possible that they wanted to depict Optimus with as long nose truck, therefore would be easier to use either the TF1-3 or AOE/TLK design instead of modelling a new live action that would only be used for the commercial or the BB/ROTB design which was designed with the G1 flat nose look in mind

Or they dont have access to the ROTB design and they wont be able to use him until its start to market ROTB and as its been suggested maybe the design from BB was not rigged to Transform, as they had a scene where we see Prime transform, so again easy to use an existing model rigged with Transformation, rather than update the BB model.

I think the reason aoe prime was used is because he's a modern truck. That's it I think. Either that or they don't want to reveal prime rotb design for a commercial. I don't get what the fuss is all about.

Haha so cool, I loved it!

More transformation in a one minute commercial than in the last knight...

Oh nice, this brought back some nostalgia to some of the ads I saw on TV when I was growing up, thanks tfw for sending me an email on this.

If rotb fails i hope they make a sequel to tlk, if paramount can continue the star trek movies that apparently fans hate then it gives me hope they can continue them but i seriously doubt they will ever do.

my heart hurts, i didnt want a reboot with classic 80s stuff if only SOMEONE a BETTER director and better writers could have taken those designs and made them better characters

its a nice fantasy to have, this feels more of a happy goodbye than tlk that movie so wack even past bayyverse fans disliked it

heh that was cool. I've been firmly in the camp of Prime's typical depiction being stoic to the point of being annoying the last few years. So seeing some almost basket ball meme level content in the movie style was nice to see even if it is just an insurance add.

Also fuck Direct Line they're all fun and games with this expensive as fuck adds but they'll fuck you over if your car gets nicked. Tried to pay me just £500 when my old Roadster was torched and nuked my NCB in the process I'd of been better off never using them.

My post wasn't even about Bayverse Vs G1, it's was about Hasbro being consistent in their presentation for the movies.

The jokes on them, I grew up in the 90s so I was raised on RiD 2000 and Armada. I only watched G1 in its entirety 3 years ago

It's nice to see Bayverse Prime kicking back and having fun rather than screaming 'I'LL KILL YOU' every seven fucking seconds. Some wholesome, quality stuff here. And the big fella looks utterly fantastic.

Voice work notwithstanding, I'd have moved mountains to see this level of cheesy shit breaking up the carnage on cinema screens. Close ups of laws explaining how a sexual relationship is legal or Optimus Prime enjoying a good swim with his pal?

We didn't really see him transforming. Most of the transformation was out of screen in the video
For everyone they don't even know Bumblebee movie exists
You know this design is more famous among the general public right? Most people I know if they saw BBM Optimus wouldn't have any idea where tf that came from, so I can't really see a commercial wanting to use that

Plus that design can't transform which kind of undoes the whole road trip premise of the advert..

Possibly one of the weirdest commercials ever, also they could\'ve just used the Bumblebee Movie Optimus and that truck and it wouldn\'t really be that off from the ROTB Prime, and they could\'ve atleast hired a better sounding Optimus.

Except as has already been explained there is no BB Optimus prop truck they could use and BB Optimus’s CGI model is basically an Action Master and doesn't have any kind of transformation animation either. I'd imagine tracking down a suitable stand-in truck and animating a whole new transformation sequence would've been incredibly cost prohibitive.

This is part of what makes the Bay movies so irritating…the wasted potential. Also, it’s so nice seeing Prime acting like a Prime again (even if his extreme aggression in the movies was understandable due to the bullshit he had to deal with in terms of betrayals and slaughter of both his men and innocent humans).
