Truck mode looks nice, bot mode has lots of ugly kibble and also don't like where some of the truck parts wind up in bot mode. I'm sure the CG model will look so much better.

 

As one incarnation of Optimus would say: "That's just Prime!"

 

I don't know why people are liking this pile of shit . Glade I have the good versions of optimus. Money well spent . I have no faith with this movie so far .

 

Based on the toy its kind of meh but the actual design might look a lot better.

Did anyone notice his chest looks like a girl bots face. Look closely. Eyes nose and puckered up mouth. "No comment plz".

A few weeks ago, someone who has seen the actual cgi Prime and Bee said that Optimus didn't have the chest windows anymore.

 

I don't like the truck mode at all, never have since pics leaked. I won't judge the robot mode just yet since we only have that terrible toy to base opinions on so far, but as it stands right now I vastly prefer the old character model.

 

He'll probably look better with cgi just look at the DOTM Megatron toy and you'll see the toys don't always look like the actual characters
Is there anyone here who could make a sketch of Optimus based on this toy ?

I can't really decide on whether I like the new Optimus or not until I see the CGI version that'll be kicking ass in Age of Extinction.

 

I will always prefer the original Optimus' design to this one. He was only redesigned to sell toys, but looking like at the Leader Class design Hasbro's kidding themselves.

 

I will wait until the CGI model of Optimus comes out to make judgment, as are many of you, it seems.

That being said, has anyone looked at the weapons in his hands? Not that the toy-line weapons have matched the movie weapons, but still...

It's not a total abomination, but I don't feel it's an improvement.

I don't like the skirt and I miss the chest windows. In fairness to them, we all expected them mix it up a bit. It's still clearly identifiable, so I couldn't accuse them of going too far. It's just not the kind of design I like.

I think maybe it's a bit too flowing, with wrap around armor and curves, where I like Optimus to be more squared off, solid and robust.

At any rate, it's all a bit premature at this point, so these judgements aren't final. We'll see how he's really shaping up when CG images emerge.

 

Vehicle mode is of course much cooler. But robot mode... it's not actually bad... but I don't like it for Optimus.

if its a toy...then it looks like crap....but it might look kick ass in the CGI Rendering
