Decided to start work on the codpiece to make sure i have everything at the right scale. I made the front plate today and will work on the rest throughtout the weekend, then ill be putting together the torso next week.
Double post but its update time!! Cod piece construction is complete!! Painting will come later this week but for now this is looking amazing!!
Project Prime new update!! I have the torso mostly sculpted, just gotta sculpt the backpack and figure out how im gonna get in and out of it haha. The scale of this thing is gonna be big too.
Looking excellent! Absolutely huge! For getting in and out might I recommend gluing in a zipper or some clips in the back? Or making the front and back two seperate bits that connect, if you hide in the seems it should look nice!
So i think im gonna take advantage of the backpack pods to have some velcro attachment points. Ill see gow it turns out once the pods are done. But i really like the idea of a zipper as well. Hmm ill see what works best Edit: I got the back pack sculpted! Im definitely gonna go with the velcro route for allowing me to put it on a bit easier. Will have to get some parachute clips to keep the codpiece up and attached to the chest. And do the same for the thigh pieces once those are sculpted. Those are next!
Arms are sculpted!! Im currently painting them and the chest piece. Next to sculpt is the thighs then the boots. Gotta get the platform shoes im gonna wear with them first.
Hey all! Its been awhile! Ive got some smaller updates mostly painted parts. But im stuck having a conundrum. Which position should i set up the smokestacks? Higher looks pretty good but it does look good lower too. Any help would be appreciated!
That’s looking so wicked! The paint you’ve chosen is perfect. With regards to smoke stacks I’d say lower, as they’re less likely to catch on something and rip off, plus they’re more accurate I believe!
ha! You have a point about taller smokestacks GT2 but i think i agree having them lower will still make it so they look good and wont bump into the chest and head while im moving around.
Time for another update! I have the chest and arms fully painted! I also have an autobot logo for the shoulder. The release of the movie is in less than two weeks so ill be going full steam ahead on the legs i just had to do a test fit of the upper half. Starting to think the chest might be a bit too large but for this first build im not worried. Ill make a slimmer one down the line.
New update! I redid the smokestacks as i realized i assembled them wrong and now theyre much longer. Also got some pants started! Got all the boot parts cut out so now its time to start bringing it all together!
