Let's say Perceptor was able to fix Optimus Prime, would he still be leader of the Autobots by the end of the movie, knowing how the movie ended with the whole Unicron arrival to Cybertron, how would he react during the second attack in Autobot City led by Galvatron, would he go the same route as Ultra Magnus aboard the Shuttles and head to Cybertron after Unicron has attacked both Moonbases? You think the movie would of taken a whole different direction.

    Thanks

Yeah, he'd probably still be the leader

Unless he spent some time recovering from his injuries and events still needed an Autobot to rise from their ranks and use the power of the Matrix to light their darkest hour, I see no real reason for Optimus to step down as Autobot leader.

I could still see Optimus going to Cybertron to tackle the Unicron threat once he got the communication from Spike and Bumblebee on the Moonbase. The movie could still run a very similar course. Or not if you didn't want it to. It would probably be the middle of the movie that would change some, and Hotrod could still get his hands on the Matrix and open it if Optimus was busy or indisposed, perhaps fighting Galvatron. I suppose a lot depends on which shuttle Optimus took when escaping the second attack on Autobot City and going to save Cybertron. Would he be with Magnus' team or with Kup, Hotrod and the Dinobots?

Would we still get a Rodimus Prime? If so would he just bugger off to Earth and command there after the movie while Optimus stayed to rebuild Cybertron? Where would Magnus go if Rodimus takes over command of Autobot City?

In the Marvel comics when Unicron arrived at Cybertron several years earlier than in the movie, it was Optimus with the Matrix that destroyed him. No Hotrod/Rodimus required.

You have to remember that Hot Rod was the hero in that story, and that Wartime leaders aren't nessesarily good Peacetime leaders, In fact they're usually pretty bad peacetime leaders.

And Rodimus Prime, was for the most part a Peacetime leader, Sure the Decepticons were a bit active during season 3 but they were mostly raiders and pirates and Galvatron (post plasma bath) was ineffectual.

Rodimus made the Autobots were a Nation again, they put cybertron back on the map, made it look nice (compared to before) and made relations with out intergalactic powers (all those peace talks and stuff). Fixing it's energy problems and economy. All of this was scaring the begeezez out of the Quintessons....

This is at least the third time you're asking a hypothetical question regarding Optimus Prime's death in TF:TM. Your previous two questions have been merged into this thread.

Why are you starting a new thread again? Did you forget you already asked this question twice?

What would have been interesting if Optimus survived, but was in incapacitated or tagged along, but weakened for the rest of the movie, Galvatron shows up, takes the Matrix, Hotrod ends up with it anyway, become Rodimus Prime, and Optimus just steps down and just functions as Rodimus' mentor and aid, kinda like Alpha Trion was to him.

Just my thought on the matter.

Wow, I never thought of that. You're absolutely right.
