Optimus Prime #2 iBooks preview - Transformers News - TFW2005
Hmm... It looks like Barber is trying to flex his continuity clearing muscles again with respect to Monstrosity and Primacy. Definitely looking forward to this, and I like how messed up the Junkions look.
if there's any character who can pull off quirky, obnoxious fourth wall-breaking it's wreck-gar
I'm honestly not sure if I ahouls be reading Wreck-Gar with his G1 or Animated voice. The art makes it a little hard to tell whats going on too. Pretty though.
Does anyone else want a Titans Return figure of Wreck-Gar now or is it just met?
Condidering we've just got 1 army builder hell yes I do. Swapping heads wouls have never been easier to differentiate your Junkion Army.
That art is looking damn nice, and I'm enjoying Optimus' weird little mid-life crisis on earth. While it's only the start of the year, I think my ongoing comic preference has flipped to Scott>Barber>Roberts when it was opposite last year, mostly because of Milne's absence on MTMTE. I didn't think switching artists could make such a difference, but damn Zama is good and the cracks in Roberts' writing really show when he doesn't have Milne around.
Their speech pattern is certainly odd, not TV-speak though.
looks good, i want to learn more about Junkions, they are odd but it doesn\'t look like they\'re hostile so it will be interesting to see how Optimus & his team deals with them
Ahh Wreck-Gar. Always an entertaining bot.
Kei Zama and Josh Burcham are really knocking the ball out of the park with the art.
Oh, no wonder it reminded me of Roche's stuff, I always forget what an integral part of his work Burcham was.
Cannot live with this art. Complicated, messy, detracts from story, and I can\'t tell one Junkion from the other.
Finding the new series really tough going.
I'm betting that's G.I. Joes talking off screen.
That's what I'm thinking too.
And boy, they sure captured the Junkion's kooky-ness well.
Weren't they cannibalistic and violent in Monstrosity?
The art is horrible
IIRC, yeah. But they had very little to no dialogue. This seems to be a bit more closer to the G1 incarnation, but probably will keep the violent side intact.
If IDW were a classroom, the Monstrosity trilogy would be the creepy goth kid sitting in the back of the class. Yes, I know he smells, and that home made piercing is definitely infected, but it's best if we just ignore him and go on with class.
The book's keeping the Junkions' origin from the -acy trilogy intact--they were once this prosperous race that ran out of resources and became little more than scavengers--but I'm not going to complain about them changing some characterizations and possibly more.
I am not digging the way this book is colored.
IMO it ruins the art.
