Toy-model Cicadacon wans't even called by this name (or any name) in the book. It's a use of the character model, but if BW animation model Cicadacon was used in fiction it would not be introducing a character duplicate - BW toy model Cicadacon effectively was just a nameless generic slain the fight scene.
He was brought into combiner wars to help get the series done after Sarah stone had to withdraw due to illness. That's a plus.
