Do you like to see Optimus be powered by the chaos emerald some crossover with Sonic ?
All up to IDW, Sega, and Hasbro. Not really though. Sonic's ass is overpowered. We seen him take down huge robots with just a homing attack. If we did get a crossover it should be based on the G1 animated series and Sonic can't be too overpowered.
...Fuck it, just give him the Infinity Stones, the Cyber Planet keys, the Zeo Crystals, and any other overpowered technicolor Macguffins you can think of too.
The Allspark Key?
The Power Star, Sword of Grayskull, The Crystal Coconut, Golden feathers, The Triforce, Buster Sword, Ten Rings, and most of the objects in Sonic.
No... just no...
It was weird enough when Sonic had a cartoon with human characters in it. Technically Robotnic/Eggman is human but it still looks weird when they have completely different art styles. Anime humans look more realistic than Robotnic/Eggman does. The way humans look in that universe is more like Looney Toons than Anime.
And I'd feel the same way about Transformers. The robots of Sonic's universe wouldn't blend well with the more realistic style of Transformers. Even if you went with Animated Transformers you'd get the opposite problem where Robots in Sonics universe look more real than they do... mostly because they have more natural proportions... though the human characters would work better in that setting than G1 humans, Anime Humans, or any of the humans who aren't actually Anime but look like the animators were trying to copy that art style.
The only way you could really make it work is to design the Transformers specifically for that universe. And it's gotta be reworking the Transformers to fit the Sonic art style not the other way around because there's no way to make humanoid talking multicolored animals work outside of that setting without making some convoluted back story for them that would be too complicated to explain in a cross over.
Basically Sonic seems pretty normal for the universe that he's in but if you put him a universe where hedgehogs don't look like he does and people would think it strange to see something like him then you have to explain why he isn't like other animals in our world. No explanation needed as long as he only exists in a world where all animals are like him.
Shockwave chuckled. "You mean the Chaos Emeralds?"
I can imagine Sonic insulting him.
"AW YEAH THIS IS HAPPENING!"
I've seen sonic fan fiction/art... I want no part of transformers getting any where near that.
Its been already there....
As to the OP. NO
I should be surprised, but I'm not.
Have you seen the Old Sonic web series on Dorkly. It's basically just to make fun of fan art... I've never seen the actual fan art but just from the things they've talked about on that series I don't want to.
I'm telling you, I flat out DREAD coming on this site when the news cycle slows down with the leaks and whatnot. THIS kind of thread is the result.
Or the Taylor Swift/Wheeljack thread...
After the brilliant IDWs Transformers vs Visionaries I'm all for more well planned crossovers of equally stellar level of quality!
I mean, there could be some interesting ideas for a Sonic/Transformers Crossover if done with the right hands. Targetmaster Badniks, Eggman giving Megatron his Megadrive Body after some mishap, Emerl /Gemerl ACTUALLY GETTING some representation again since Sonic Battle (I can see him reformatted into an alt-mode thanks to cybertronian tech, I mean a Cybertronian tech powered Gizoid would be a big deal if done right.) Metal Sonic gaining a new form (Again.) and Optimus attempting to be a father figure to Sonic, just for the latter to feel a bit awkward about it, trying to not disrespect the guy.
Good god no....leave sonic and his fanbase in their own weird little corner
Optimus is more of a Mario guy. They shared Sears Wishbooks and Christmases together.
Sonic came way later.
Doesn't sound like a nice idea even by crossover standards.
Still wouldn't mind seeing '06 Badniks co-oping with Vehicons.
