i noticed this when i was looking at the rotf pic and the damage on the head was very similar , and it is exactly the same

check it out i colour coded the damage , there is the same hole on the left side of his head and the same dent on the right side,
is it me or did the animators use the same optimus damage model

ive highlighted the main ones but there are a few scrapes in the same place (but they can be coiscidence)


i should piont out that this isnt a complaint about the special effects cos theyre awsome but thought i should point it out

 

Bay didn't use it, the animators (or whatever they are) did.
Models are incredibly expensive to make, so I don't blame them.

 

Wouldn't it make since for Optimus to have scars from his previous battles?
I think it is cool it is the exact same scars the he got from Megatron (issuming it was Megatron who give him the scars).

They're not exactly the same model, though. Optimus' damaged head at Egypt has one of the pieces or "rings" at the center of his helmet bent. But on the Chicago pic, they're all in good shape.

 

ye that does sound cool , but optimus never had them in the beggining of the film

 

on the same note, ironhide has mirrored legs (look at the scratches on his feet)

 

Those rings you speak of are bent in dotm but you can't see it cos it is at an angle but if u look closely you can see that the front one is

 

That's a model of the first game's Ironhide. So, therefore, it's just promotional.  

 

acctully this is a revenge of the fallen model
