The Cade and Optimus parallels are very apparent....starting with the lockdown speech of "the trouble with loyalty to the cause,is that the cause will always betray you " then the late derision of his defence of humanity. Hence Optimus turns against his cause and goes evil. Cade also faces his own opposition from his own species, both in AOE and TLK.
