The Titanium line isn't exactly well-loved, and I know it's for good reasons. A lot of the figures have odd proportions, loose connection points, and struggle beneath their own weight. All of that being said, a lot of the designs do at least look good, superficially speaking.

I handled Titanium Prowl and his alt mode was actually kind of cool, even if his robot mode had broader shoulders than three football players lined up side-by-side. I'm moreso a fan of the War Within Optimus look, tabbing and shoulder issues and all.

There are plenty of figures out there that I still kind of have my eye on, but I'm not as sure how worth it they'd be. WW Jetfire, Grimlock, and the Fallen are among those on the list. So what do you think? Not just of the figures mentioned but in general?

Are there things about the Titanium line you liked? Things that you believe could've really made the line shine if they did X or Y differently? There's plenty of criticisms out there too, but if possible, I'd like to avoid the thread getting too bogged down in an "everything was terrible!" mindset. But of course, feel free to state your thoughts on the line either way.

The thing I liked about the Titanium line is that it gave me Dreamwave's War Within character model toys. I still really like those!

The only one I ever picked up was Rodimus. I think he looks cool and displays well in bot mode.

A revival of the line done by the actual Transformers design team would actually be cool to me. As it is, it was a line of missed opportunities and failed execution.

I own most of them, and Magnus was the only one I genuinely like. The rest fall into a vague category of "less terrible than I was expecting" and "woof."

Titanium Fire Convoy/RID Optimus was actually pretty solid. I think he's usually considered one of the highlights of the line.

Takara engineering would've helped A LOT.

I have them all and got all the Target exclusive ones on clearance. G1 Ultra Magnus is the best and the only one I never found in the store. Scourge was another good one.

I think I'm the only person in the world who liked Titanium Soundwave. Such a fun figure!

I’ve owned Skywarp and I quite liked him. He could have used more articulation but he was cool-looking in both modes and I liked his heft. I let him go to someone who appreciated him more, but I’d be down for more Titanium Series.

I sold off almost all my Titanium figures a few months ago and don't miss any of them. The designs were interesting, but execution was bad for most of them. The first Megatron of the line was considered by many to be one of the worst figures ever made. It's certainly the worst Transformers toy I've ever owned.

All in all, 'wasted potential' is probably the best thing that can be said about them.

Not being primarily metal would've helped more. The designs themselves aren't too bad, maybe a little soft, but having to account for the metal pieces really hurt what could be done with them. Megatron V2, RID Optimus and BM Cheetor to name a few were great designs, terrible execution.

Exhibit A for why diecast shouldnt always be used in a toy.

That Soundwave is still possibly the worst toy I ever owned.

I got Optimus, Ultra Magnus, Scourge, Megatron, Soundwave, and Skywarp for $5 total at an auction, for that they were worth it.

I like Optimus and Ultra Magnus. Soundwave is actually very cool since he does transform into a tape deck. Plus he has nano-laserbeak.

I still want a Generations version of The Fallen. It’s a shame his War Within design has only been released once as a toy.

They were a mixed bag for me. The war within seekers, Prime, as well as scourge and Rodimus I like. The tank Megatron recently fell completely apart when I was moving my Megatrons to another shelf. Jetfire was ok, but it seemed like the wings fell off fairly easily. Soundwave was not bad, but I understand why people called him diaperwave.

I swear, you sneeze on Titanium Megatron and he'd fall apart. The heavy slabs of metal that made up his legs were connected to the torso by tiny open plastic clips! I just... how do you fuck up that badly?

Yes, I know they weren't designed by Hasbro. It still baffles me. :p

It was an interesting line to say the least. The Fallen was a pretty solid toy and design, and may be my favorite from the line.
