What do you guys think of this version of Megatron? Do you think hes the best or one of the best? He is top 3 for me IMO. Also it was insane how big he was, probably the biggest incarnation of the tyrannical leader we've seen.

Honestly, he's probably my favorite Megatron incarnation; I love how calculating and ruthless he is, how he truly feels like a threat whenever he's onscreen, how refreshing it was to see him actually punish Starscream for treachery, and Burton's voice is a perfect fit for his personality.

Plus, the design and helicopter alt-mode both kick ass.

Cool character, very effective and cunning, bitchin' alt mode, didn't take any nonsense from Starscream, didn't get nearly enough to do.

Definitely one of the best incarnations, not my favorite, G1 Megs will always be my favorite, but this was a great take on the character

I thought his history was pretty cool, an extended (and improved) version of Bayformers 2007: he crashed on Earth and was used to found modern futuristic tech thanks to an industrialist's efforts, and then all he had to do was bide his time and wait for an opportunity to take over. It was an excellent history that it was used in AOE in 2014.

I also liked his guncopter mode, that was original and fitting for him.

I thought Corey Burton fit him well (and Norio Wakamoto too in the Japanese dub).

The only thing I didn't like was his portrayal as cold and more robotic. It sounds weird, but I've always seen Megatron as fiery and driven. I'll look to Soundwave for the cold and emotionless role.

Right up there with Beast Era Megatron for me. Plus I love Corey Burton's take on Megatron.

Easily one of the best versions of Megatron to date. The only other one that's on the same playing field is Beast Wars Megatron, and he's technically a different guy.

My second favourite Megatron ( first being TFP). Loved his cybertronian look which was kind of a cross between G1 and movieverse. But the helicopter mode suited him really well too. Great voice and very intimidating. One of my favourite scenes in any transformers continuity is where he uses the allspark to rebuild himself pulling together parts of sumdacs lab to shape his body.

One of, if not the best incarnation of Megatron to date, hands down. I know some people prefer Megatrons with a more impassioned personality, but the coldness and ruthlessness, combined with Corey Burton's superb voice acting give Animated Megs an air of dangerousness and unpredictability that I feel is absent in a number of other Megatrons. He effortlessly manipulates others into doing his bidding - even his own troops - and when push comes to shove he's got a powerful, weapons-laden body and apex fighting skills to match his intelligence. Definitely my favorite Megatron of the bunch, and I sincerely hope the franchise eventually revisits him in some way. Heck, I won't mind just seeing a new Megatron that does away with the "generic angry warlord" personality and picks back up the "master manipulator" persona.

TFA has the undisputable best voice of Megatron in my opinion, and the cold ruthless personality does numbers as well. But I like the design of the original Megatron toy a little bit more than Animated's rendition in all honesty.

Best Megatron yet. And given the decline in solid media, probably ever at this point.

TFA Megatron was the last of a dying breed. A time where Megs was a threat but not so overhyped he was impossibly strong or dull. He schemed and had personality, and was as deadly a tactician as he was a fighter. Compared to later shows where the writers seemed to struggle with keeping in him justifiably powerful but hobbling him or forcing him into the background because he was made too overpowered, TFA Megs struck a nice balance.

He’s the perfect counterpart to BW Megs who was far more mortal but just as cunning. TFA Megs played smart and cautious and rarely blundered, only ever being defeated because of his hubris as a villain.

Plus he was such a charming fellow to watch. He never felt like he talked bigger than he could walk.

He is beautiful. This is by far the most intimidating, badass version of Megatron on television. Not just that, but he had a great design, and an excellent, chilling voice.

    But damn, was he terrifying.

And he actually got rid of Starscream after a single betrayal, and never welcomed him back(cough TFP cough)
