BoxOffice® — NORTH AMERICA: Early Trends Suggest 'Transformers: Age of Extinction' Pacing for $93-95M Weekend (2nd Update)BoxOffice® — News

This isn't set in stone yet, but it's looking like TF4 will make $38 million on opening day. This will likely end up pushing it to making $93-$95 million opening weekend.

Do not try to judge Transformers Opening weekend grosses to the previous films. All of them were released during midweek rather than Friday.

    However:
    Transformers (Friday-Sunday): $70 million (Including Mid-days): $155 million
Transformers Revenge of the Fallen (Friday-Saturday): $108 million (Including Mid-days): $200 million
Transformers Dark of the Moon (Friday-Saturday): $97 million (Including Mid-days): $162 million

I'm still blown away that RotF did so well, but then it was riding on the coat-tails of 2007.

The opening day was on Thursday and most theaters had the movie run between 9 and 12.

To some that's a little late.

Planet of the Apes I think are in the movies too and that looks like a pretty good movie.

It's going to cross 100 million guys.

All the theaters in my area were PACKED. I went to two different theaters to see it twice. (NYC)

I'm pretty sure ROTF sold more tickets than DOTM, and DOTM only beat it due to 3d sales
