I've always been curious about the contents of a boxed G1 MISB. Things like does it come with a weapons sleeve, how many baggies for the weapons, the type of baggies (soft vs a more coarse kind similar to a comic book bag), etc.

Over the years, I have opened up some that I'll be posting pics of here. Hopefully, others will too, so we have a catalog of what's in those MISB G1 boxes, such as what inserts and baggies came with them :)

    First up...Hot Spot.

    Things to note about him,
    • Comes with two accessory baggies
    • Unlike Onslaught, and other Combiner leaders, has no weapons sleeve.

I already like this thread. It needs more. Much more (than meets the eye!).

How can we know you are the first to cut the tape and be the first to remove the contents?

You're going to have to trust me :)  Actually, we'll have to trust everyone else that adds pics to this thread as well :)

I only have about 8 MISB that I opened up so I'm hoping others that have opened up their MISBs can contribute as well.

I don't plan to add any MIBs that I bought as MIB since its hard to say whether some things came in separate baggies or not (e.g Piranacon's head came in its own baggie, but if you buy a MIB Snaptrap, the head might be taken out of that baggie and mixed in with the paperwork baggie). Also, if you buy an item MIB you might be missing some inner bubbles or get a repro bubble.

I mean this is lovely and beautiful and I am a hardcore proponent for opening your toys and playing with them, but even I can't look at that for fear of damaging my poor, hurting heart.

That's one less misb hot spot in the world.

    Scary.

    This is so cool!
I have a MISB Duocon Battletrap in storage, that's obviously badly sun-damaged (both the figure and the box). I've always wanted to open it, knowing it's value even as a MISB figure is low.

    You MONSTER!
    ;)

    Just kidding.
In the early 2000's MOSC Action Masters could be had for $25-30 and I would open them so I could be assured of having a pristine toy, though I admit I had pangs of guilt about it. I honestly don't know if I could do what you're doing, but I look forward to more :thumb

it is fun and worth it IMO, i got a cheap OP from ebay just for the feel and look.

it works, although the smell of the ink and cardboard isn't right.

    lol!

To that point, I actually DID buy a KO G1 not too long ago (Octane) and opening it was SUCH a glorious experience, that I couldn't bring myself to throw the box or it's contents away. I packaged it up with such tender loving care as if it was the real deal!

Hey, that's awesome!! Why can't we have these in stead of coins or those statues with the Masterpiece figures?! How awesome would it be to wear those on your jacket or bag?

I like this thread and that is coming from a former MISBer. But the one thing Id be scared about years later is opening up the TF and finding out its broken and not much I can do about it.

All those cool extras that came with G1 figures; of course, the tech spec reader.
