Agreed, I felt it was a mistake to have Brit kick out of Tay's DDT finisher.

Just finished as I couldn't watch live.

Kenny vs Hangman, Punk vs Eddie and Darby vs MJF were fire.

Also really enjoyed Bryan vs Miro, Lucha Bros vs FTR, SuperKliq vs Jurassic + Christian and Rosa/Shida vs Nyla/Hayter.

Wasn't into Inner Circle vs America Top Team although there wasn't anything wrong with it, just not interested in the feud and those sorts of matches are much of a muchness at this point.

Was expecting more from Cody and Pac vs Andrade and Black, felt more like a mid-feud TV match then something that should have been on a PPV. I think that Cody fatigue is starting to weigh down everything he is involved at this point, would be best if he takes a few months off and maybe focus on doing the PR/Celebrity stuff like the Shaq match for a while after.

Gotta agree that it's time to move the women's belt on Rosa. Britt is a great promo and character, but she's very hit and miss in-ring when it comes to the big matches and seeing the other ladies tearing it up on the pre show emphasised that. Plus at this point she's over enough not to need it anymore.

I'm pretty meh on Lethal but will never say no to Ishii, hope he's going to be around for a few weeks.

That and the Tay-KO. One of them, maybe, but both is too much.
If they were insistent on Tay hitting the DDT but it not finishing the match, they should have gone for a spot where one of Britt's entourage saves the match for her by grabbing her hand or foot and putting it on the rope. Match continues, protects the DD-Tay, furthers the overused idea that you're fighting more than one person when you're against Britt.

On another topic, Jay Lethal. I know he's good, but I can't say I'm excited. I get why they signed him and all but the news doesn't do anything for me. Also I hope TK did some proper vetting before signing him. Lethal's had a couple of accusations against him over the years and while nothing stuck/was substantiated enough, it'd be a bad look if something did come out.

I didnt get to watch but its cool as hell seeing people excited about wrestling and the results again instead of complaining about how wwe could have done it better.

I get that everyone has their opinions and nitpicks on the show and things to improve but man after a wwe payperview its like half the community here doesnt even watch and the other half wishes every match was booked differently. I dig seeing excitement and constructive criticism again and AEW has lit that fire for fans.

Will be cool to see how hanger as champ breaks up the elite friendships and if cole uses that opening to make way for the undisputed elite!

I agree on what you said about Britt reigns. I was hoping she would lose to Conti.

I was tired as hell last night and had to watch certain matches like 3x to actually see them (falling asleep mid match).

the Cody/pac vs black/Andrade was probably the most disappointing match. Probably because of the expectation. We all expect greatness from PAC, Andrade, and Black - and know what to expect from Cody. But what they gave us felt like a run of the mill match from Raw. It even felt like they were doing more WWE style than AEW/Indie work. I’m starting to think you shouldn’t put more than one ex-wwe guy into a match at a time. Need outsiders and indie guys in the matches to force them into leaving their comfort zone.

Kenny can Hangman was exactly what I hoped it would be. Miro vs Bryan and MJF va Darby we’re just solid matches. Nothing to write home about but everything done well. Liked seeing Darby’s technical side more. They’re really building him to be a star.

Punk vs Kingston stole the show, though. And it wasn’t even a super spot filled match. Just great acting and visuals. Punk heeling it up with the Cena spot. The way they used Punks busted forehead/blade job. Kingston was explosive at the beginning. That cheap shot spin move that opened the match was lightning quick.

I like where the Punk angle is going. Where Punk became what he used to hate. That promo with Kingston borrowed lines from the MITB 2011 feud where Cena had talked about Punk not living up to his potential/his expectations. Then Punk pulls out the shoulder tackle spot. And even with Punk wanting to “work with the young guys” - if you think about it, that’s what Cena did too. Always kept himself fresh by leeching onto and beating whoever was the rising act (and those open challenges). Punk has been by Tony’s side when they do stuff before or after the show to thank the audience or praise a cancer survivor or do charity stuff. Always praising the company.

Company Man Punk. Big shot heel. I’m all for it.

    I really enjoyed Full Gear.

CM Punk vs Kingston match, based on how the crowd reacted when Punk gave Kingston some knee strikes before the second GTS. I wanted Kingston to kick out of it, which would piss Punk off to a point where he puts him in the Anaconda Vice with Kingston giving him the finger as he passes out. The crowd would have exploded if that happened.

The Inner Circle vs America's Top Team match was the weakest match for me. Andrei Arlovski didn't come off as a menace at all. And though Junior Dos Santos had some good moments, his botches can be heard when someone screams out JUNIOR when he misses his spot with Jericho. I mean there was a moment when Dan Lambert had to pull him by his arm like a child to place him for a spot. The moments I am referring to is when Lambert pulled Jericho out of the ring and when Jericho tried to do a Lionsault.

TIL that Paul Wight and Mei Suruga standing next to each other looks like CGI because of the massive size difference.

Dos Santos is a former UFC heavyweight champ that pulled out a standing moonsault and a few actual wrestling moves for a guest spot in a gimmick match. Dude was committed for something really minor. I mean this was less of a match and less hyped than even Bad Bunny’s match, but he gave it 100%

I feel like these “they’re going to make Adam wrestle” moments would make more sense and have more weight if the WWE audience got to see him do it when he was younger and still competing.

As a Vegas resident I’m embarrassed that Grimes is still calling with a straight draw against 3 5s
