Lio was really impressive before WWE. He's back to who he used to be / before they watered him down.

Like Bobby Fish slipping into the Elite. Combine this with Kyle Oreily's contract expiring in December and you've got the slow burn where Cole kicks out Kenny and slowly turns the Elite into the Undisputed Era.

    EDIT:
Im willing to bet "Stadium Stampede 2022" or "Blood and Guts 2022" will be Undisputed (whatever their new name is) vs a face Elite

Is this AEW's version of WrestleMania?

All Out in Late August/ Early September is their Wrestlemania.

AEW only does 4 ppvs a year, so they usually have solid long-term builds and the bigger matches that they've saved/held off on doing. So they all feel like a somewhat big deal

Not having a PPV every 3-4 weeks is a good thing for show quality.

That Full Gear card is going to be insane. So many matches on there that could be considered "Match of the Night". And as much of a Mox fan as I am, I like the finals being Miro vs Danielson more. This way whoever wins it will introduce someone new into the title picture. My prediction is Miro pulls off the upset and sets up the first challenger for Hangman since I'm sure he will beat Omega. Makes sense in my head.

Rumors swirling about Okada coming to AEW. He was mentioned in a back stage skit with the best friends, he was mentioned once on commentary, and he’s wrestling at the NJPW US show coming up.

If so, I imagine Hangman will lose so we can get Omega/Okada for the title.

Doubtful. I still think Hangman wins (no way they’re throwing all that buildup out the window) and if it IS Okada we get a Triple Threat for the title; Hangman VS Okada VS Omega

I thought I remember reading someone used to or currently refs in this thread for some indies/locals? Any advice on getting started from scratch?

Im likely moving into a new job in the next few months that will allow me some time to start training as a ref. We have some local schools in the chicagoland area and Im really excited to look into them to start training. Most of them cater to talent but I figure they have to teach reffing as well to some extent.

Something Ive just always wanted to do, actually learn the biz. Losing a person in body weight and avoiding the reaper has really made me want to try to accomplish some stuff Ive never been able to do. Since I should be at ideal weight by next summer, I want to start looking at some places now.

I remember reading about the WWE offered Lio a contract. But he wanted more money and WWE refused.

Yeah. Dude daid he couldnt live on what he was making with food, health, and travel costs.

Now, while he had one of the lowest main roster contracts, He was still making 150-200k at a minimum. You can make that last if you do it smart. But from what was said, he was getting his own room every night, his wife would travel with him often, and all that.

It makes their TV shows have higher quality, sometimes their episodes feel like PPVs.

Good news (and fingers crossed for THIS TIME), is that Double Or Nothing is returning back here to Vegas for 2022

After having to unfortunately get a refund for my ticket due to DoN 2021 having been moved back to Jacksonville because pandemic, hopefully I get to go this time around!

Probably the same or a little less. AEW has an open contract system where you can work indies and do outside stuff so long as it doesn’t interfere with your AEW bookings.

AEW doesn’t tour as much (no 2-3days of house shows weekly) so his travel costs are lower, but he’s probably making less. But throw in some indie bookings and his fledgling rap career thst he’s free to pursue now, he’s probably alright

Yeah right. As if people won't see it coming.

I give an easy prediction that Roman Reigns beats King Woods.

Edit: ok so Woods won but by disqualification but obviously Reigns was never going to bend the knee.

Everytime Reigns has a match, the usos always interfere. It is getting old and tiresome.
