Calling it now: Orange Cassidy VS Bryan Danielson in the Finals, Bryan wins it all

Somewhat interesting bracket for the Eliminator Tournament but barring injury or something unforeseen like that, it's obviously gonna be Mox vs Bryanson at Full Gear. No chance either loses along the way.

For the hell of it, in the other two first round matches I'm betting Hobbs and Archer winning. OC can absorb the loss, especially since Hook will likely interfere. Plus Hobbs would be avenging the loss to OC from back before he was signed.
Archer could use a win in general, and him losing to Danielson in the semis wouldn't hurt since it's the American Dragon. Kingston can take the loss here since his strength is on the mic, kinda like Samoa Joe one intense promo will get his heat back.

The tough thing to call is who wins overall. I think the winner here is almost dictated by the Kenny vs Hangman title match. If Kenny retains, the it's Danielson so he gets that second match vs Kenny. If Hangman gets the belt, then him beating a former champion in Moxley help legitimize his reign. On the other hand, Mox and Omega have serious history in AEW so another match there could be fun. And Hangman's first defense being against an undefeated American Dragon would add uncertainty and would up Hangman's stock even further when Hangman wins.
The more I think about the likely finals, the more I'm unable to come to a conclusion on the winner. There's so many reasons to do or not do any combination of Omega/Hangman vs Moxley/Danielson.

Now watch as TK throws some kind of curveball like Hook replacing Hobbs, running the tournament and beating Kenny for the title, rendering my analysis completely wrong.

The only reason why Vince/the WWF won out against prior competition is deeper pockets, not at all due to any kind of superiority of content.

What Vince considers is 11 is back in the attitude era. 11 for Vince in 2021 is doubling down on all the bullshit he thinks is grade-A awesome as everyone else groans.

    Case in point...

Vince reads all that and just says,"Toxic? When's he available?!" (*sssssssssnnnnnnnnooooooorrrrrrt!*)

Tony 'accidentally' leaked the Full Gear card a few days ago. Was interviewed holding a notebook he scribbled the card onto.

    People zoomed in.

Mox vs Bryan was a match on that card. Would make sense as the finals of this tournament w/ Bryan and Mox on opposite sides of those brackets

***That card also had FTR vs Lucha Bros, whose storyline began tonight, and Punk vs Wardlow - which I dont get. I guess Punk becomes Darby's uncle and helps him against MJF, like Darby's WCW Dad does ***

I like it too but instead of "looks like its time for the main event" it seems all too obvious they should change that to "its time for the RAMPAGE" :lol

Counterpoint: Ted Turner who sold his business to Time Warner who in turn sold its business to AOL. Vince did not have deeper pockets. And he did not have deeper pockets than most of the competition in the early 80s. He was in debt for the first few years.

The WCW question always varies a lot.

The company, even when it was on top, wasn’t very profitable. They put beating the WWE and grabbing headlines above making money more often than not. With Turners deep pockets, they could afford to do that. WWE couldn’t and had to innovate to survive.

Then WCW had management changes, which hurt the product, and they were going through a down period of rebuilding that all wrestling companies go through (WWE in the mid 90s, the late 00s, right now). So the company was hurting. But the worst end of WCW ratings are still way higher than Raw or Smackdown now. If WCW survived long enough to be in this era of huge contracts for live programming, they’d be signing deals almost as big as WWEs

If Ted Turner didn’t sell his company WCW would survive that down period and could be around today. It was a passion project for him. But Turner did sell, to a mega corporation with no real interest in WCW. The AOL team just saw numbers and cut the promotion while it was still getting by / could rebound. They had zero attachment to it and didn’t want the risk. Plus, their image clashed with having a wrestling product.

Vince didn’t drive WCW out of business. The guy simply outlasted them, as WCW fell apart internally.

Being that they've given him the name "Bron Breakker" to separate him from the Steiner legacy (no idea if they've referenced him being the son of Rick), I could see them keeping him away from Chucky.

But if they're not going to reference Chucky's WCW appearance why even bother? Some things just have to be done, no matter how stupid
