The fact that Vince hasn't split up the New Day yet is pretty astonishing.

Anybody else order the AEW: Double or Nothing PPV for Saturday? I was going to skip it, but curiosity and the Cody/Dustin Rhodes match pulled me in. I wasn't aware that it's five hours long! At least, that's how long it is according to my Dish guide...

I'm definitely not insinuating that WWE is some saintly organization, or that Vince walks around with angel's wings under his sport jacket and a halo under his toupee.

However, I did read that the Ashley allegations were yet another in a series brought by Konstantine Kyros, a lawyer who is constantly trying to get money out of WWE, and who has been sanctioned by the court multiple times for frivolous lawsuits and false claims. The fact that he's involved makes me question the validity of the statement. Plus, I also read that Ashley herself apologized for making the claims not too long before her suicide.
So, make of that what you will. Not saying it definitely didn't happen, just saying that (IMO) there's room for doubt.

I’ve already expressed my extreme dislike of AEW and finding out both Ambrose and Kharma jumped ship (as well as Bret being there) was insult to injury.

I said that about WCW. I doubt WWE will ever go under, but it's been dull for years.

I laughed at the shot Cody took at Triple H. I wonder if Triple H will even respond on Monday.

Watched the whole show and enjoyed the shit out of it. I cringed when I saw that it was almost 5 hours with the preshow, but it was an easy watch and much enjoyable then any similarly lengthy WWE show I've watched in recent years.

No duds on the card IMO, the only gripe I've got with matches is that I didn't think that the battle royale format really improved it over a standard version.

The headline matches were belters, holy shit at the blood in the Rhodes match and all the mad spots in Bucks vs Lucha.

Particularly enjoyed the SCU vs China dudes and the 6 woman Joshi tag matches from the earlier half of the show.

Presentation was really good as well aside from a couple of minor errors. This clearly wasn't a cheaply produced show and it's a breath of fresh air to have a show of that production quality that isn't secretly embarrassed to be wrestling and has commentators that actually call the matches instead of talking about inane bullshit.

Fair point, but the whole thing looks extremely dodgy and it's not like Vince doesn't have a history of sweeping heinous shit under rugs. The deafening silence on the topic from anyone other then WWE's legal and PR team certainty isn't a good look.

I saw AEW Double or Nothing. There were a few things I disliked here and there, but overall it was awesome!

But I bet there’s a small part of Triple H that found out and is seeing red right now.

On one hand, I can see them going that route. It would definitely be Vince's attitude, given how they've almost never referenced TNA and ROH over the years.
On the other hand, I can see Trips wanting to take shots at them. He already did during the HoF speech, and he probably recognizes that proper competition will be good for business.

Having watched the Casino Battle Royale on the pre-show, I'm still iffy on the gimmick. It seems a bit slow and clunky early on but once they got more guys in it picked up and was a lot better. Still sick of the finish they went for though.
Also have to say I was impressed by some of the people I hadn't seen before.
Luchasaurus was definitely not what I expected from the name and seemed pretty good.
MJF, dude has got the heel thing down. I can easily see him at the top of their midcard, and breaking into the main event scene after they work through the PJericho/Omega/Moxley thing they've set up.
Orange Cassidy, wow. Those were some devastating kicks he delivered to Tommy Dreamer. If they've signed him, I wonder if he'll have to tone down the brutality for TV.

$50 for a PPV is not a sustainable business model in 2019. I hope AEW succeeds just to help make wrestling better. Moxley doesn’t do shit for me, though. Cody Rhodes doesn’t either. He’s a bore.

The WWE product is trash right now...reminds me of 93-95. Only reason AEW has any intrigue for me...I want to see wins and losses count.

So I just finished watching Double or Nothing. I thought it was great first show for this group. You could tell it was not cheaply run. There were some real
gems of matches in that show. I know it will take a lot of time to make WWE even really care about AEW. But I got a feeling that once that second show drops along with the tv show in October. Thing are going to get very interesting. I hope if nothing else it lights a fire under WWE to improve the product. But I look forward to much much more from them
