yeah I'm going to say this was an unexpected fantastic PPV. correct bookings that made sense, good setups for future matches, disqualifications (neville) that played into the match, interference (bollywood/jinder) that played out perfectly, my girl alexa got the book, and strowman got a proper win over reigns.

I'm giving this a 9. Best PPV I've seen in probably the past year since the brand split. Solid writing, booking, and performances all around.

Yep - finally some good booking. I love Bliss, she's talented, gets genuine heat, she reminds me a lot of molly holly - never the 'headline' diva bit the one capable of elevating the division.

Can't hinder Jinder again - Jinder looks like a threat (jobber to contender in a month, well done smackdown creative)

And at last, wyatt and strowman, who are supposed to be dangerous characters, get the wins.

Please, wwe, don't fuck this up now.

 

Didn't see the PPV since I don't have the network, but from what I read it sounds like Matt's CUN-DEEEESH-ON is getting worse...

So I was pleasantly surprised by the outcomes on Payback!

I really suspected Jericho to lose so he could take time off.
I suspected Bayley to retain because it was her hometown.
I expected Cesaro and Sheamus to win the tag titles to open up the door to the broken hardys (matt has been playing the broken role the whole time)
I thought for sure Joe was going to beat Rollins
I figured Bray was going to lose to Orton, although that match sucked
And I was nearly 100% positive Braun was going to fall to reigns again

So, totally wrong, but it was exactly as I wanted except for the Hardys. Bravo on the booking.

So really, what changed? This seems like a complete 180 turn from Raw even a week ago...

Maybe some of the writing staff got shuffled as well in the "superstar shakeup"  .

I honestly wouldn't doubt it tho. I'll will tune in to actually see if raw makes any forward progress tonight on the heels of that fantastic PPV.

 

Random thought and question that might be stupid and have an obvious answer.

Has a Table's match ever ended by someone going through an Announce Table instead of a regular wooden table? Has it been done before?

 

I certainly hope so. But if that happens, they will probably turn heel.

 

What is up with the "Drifter" every week on RAW?!

 

He goes where he wants when he wants....

In reality, I guess they're building up to him being part of RAW proper sooner or later... teasing him just like they did Emma and now Lana. IMHO, they should have him drifting onto both RAW & SDLive, would make the gimmick work better.

 

He's just doing what he does best drifting around

outside of a pretty fun main event, not much to write home about.

guess bray gets to go back to being jobber to the stars. was gonna post why is he even on raw until that last little segment. I really am not looking forward to that feud.

 

Raw was.......Ok. Alexa Bliss did well with her promo and managed to get a some fire out of Bayley. I really wish they would stop trying to make Ambrose that damn goofy. Doing it sparingly is fine. But thats what is starting to define his character,not the intensity that he is fully capable of showing and what got him over in the first place. Cant lie though, I laughed when he told Balor to eat a doughnut. Personnally, I think a Balor vs Wyatt feud will be pretty fun to watch. We all know Bray will lose in the end cause thats just what he does, but getting there should be entertaining to see. All in all it was an ok Raw. Not terrible..... Not Amazing, just meh.
