I decided against T-Wrecks. If I got him, I would want all of the other BM Dinobots redone and that ain’t gonna happen. I’m happy with my original set.

Well… Target keeps pre authorizing Rodimus so fingers crossed it’s not getting canceled

 

I have a question, what is pre authorization

 

It's where they process the payment (sometimes in full) on your card to make sure it's legit and processes so when the final payment does come due, they can charge the card without issue. It drops off in 1-5 business days. (Generally 3-5.)

Target, however, likes to reinitialize the pre-auth once a month, so your card will get hit multiple times while waiting for the order to be fulfilled if they ever do at all. They tend to delay and delay and then cancel without much warning. (An email or two, perhaps.)

 

Doesn’t look like they’re in stock locally on Brickseek. Or is there a wave/size-based DPCI that should be used for inventory checking instead?

It's really annoying how Target in particular does their pre-authorizations. I get why companies do it but if you have multiple pre-orders going it can really eat up your available balance fast and Target holds seem to last way longer than other places. Even if you cancel a pre-order it takes days to drop off so you can have your Red Card balance paid in full but not be able to use it because your available balance is taken up with pre-orders that don't drop for months. I remember not being able to use my Red Card in store one time when I first got it because I had a small initial spending limit of only a couple hundred bucks and I did some preorders. The way Target works is you can have $100 available balance but if you buy something that cost $100.01 in the store it will just decline your Red Card instead of letting you charge your available spending limit pf $100 and then saying you need to use another form of payment for the remaining penny.

 

Totally agree with this ^. If I didn't get the 5% off and the exclusives I wouldn't even bother with their red card. That and the limit seems to be crap.

 

I don't expect Rodimus Prime preorders to actually be filled until a month after the figure has been found at brick and mortar.

Even then half of all preorders will likely be canceled.

Galvatron is a perfect example. I found one in store at least a month ago, so I canceled my order.

 

The reason they do that is because of the direct access to your bank account. They can only take what they're allowed and if there's a limit/ceiling, they can't go beyond it because the bank will decline it. The only way you can overdraw your account using Red Card is if your bank allows the transaction to go through and you didn't have enough in there, to begin with. Target/the Red Card are not capable of withdrawing more than what your purchase price is. They'll put a limit on it when you first open the card to help prevent such things. Once you get past the initial period, they have no problem removing the limit. It's done automatically. Heck, I've put hundreds of dollars on the Red Card in a single purchase. (...Christmas shopping sucks. =\ )

If you're talking about the Red Card credit version, they most likely can see your limit and won't go over it and deny the transaction so you can't come back on them and complain about the overage fees charged by the CC company. (I'm guessing it's Synchrony Bank, they pretty much have a monopoly on store credit cards and they're a TERRIBLE company to deal with.)

 

Mine hasn't, even though I found it in store, the one I have is the misassembled version, so I'm waiting to see when and if the pre order gets fulfilled to see which version I get. Although I haven't seen others receiving their target pre orders on here...
