I was reading the solicitation for this book and found the following image and description. Now what's funny is that right off the bat, you can tell who is who. Guess who Power Girl is. The title character isn't even i nthe front of the cover image.
What the shit is this? I loved where Supergirl was going (slowly going anyhow). So I'm guessing one or both these ladies are the DCU heroes to lose their powers. lame
Nightwing was a kryptonian. Dick took the name from a story superman told him. This story is obviously based off that and has nothing to do with Dick. Heck there was a story arc wher superman was on Krypton and called himself Night wing.
That's because Power Girl is better than Supergirl. He's not, but this is a different Nightwing. Kandor Nightwing has been around a lot longer than Dick Grayson Nightwing, and the two have nothing to do with each other.
Anyone else notice the jets also hang off their asses? Talk about a hot ass! Anyway, this Nightwing thing sounds like another Ragdoll incident or Captain Marvel.
Nightwing is a legendary hero in the lore of the planet Krypton, allegedly an average citizen who opposed the authorities and took the identity of "Nightwing"to do good in secret. There have also been hints of a companion of his called "Flamebird". The Nightwing story is the Kryptonian equivalent of an "urban legend" and might not be "real" as such. However, Superman told the legend of the Kryptonian Nightwing to Dick Grayson when the latter had just ended his career as Batman’s sidekick Robin (I). The story inspired Dick to start calling himself Nightwing in honor of both Superman and Batman. When Superman and Lois Lane visited the fake "Phantom Zone Krypton" created by Brainiac-13, they used Nightwing and Flamebird suits in combat. [Note: Pre-Crisis, Nightwing and Flamebird alternate identities of Superman and Jimmy Olsen when they fought crime in the Kryptonian bottle-city of Kandor. Later, the Kandorian Van-Zee and Ak-Var took their place as the city’s protectors.] Taken from http://www.dcuguide.com/who.php?name=nightwingandflamebird the unofficial Guide to the DC universe.
so kara and powergirl are going to be fighting crime (essentially their own comic/universe) in a BOTTLE?!
okay i've been dl...buying the new supergirl and in #3 luthor implies that supergirl has 'been' with darkseid! how long was she there?!?!?!? not to mention we get another age...15!?!?! i thought she was 17/18 just what is her age?
Yea, Darkseid kidnapped and brainwashed her in her first appearance arc of Superman/Batman. She was going to be the captain of his female assissin guard. However she was never "with" Darkseid.
Well she looks to be 15 or 16 but she's really older then Superman (she was a teenager when she was sent off Krypton, well our current one was.) Though as she told Stargirl "Don't expect me to get us into any R rated movies anytime soon" I just am happy the purple goop in a mold with morphing abilities who later got some angel flame wings/matrixy crap that was Luthor's lover is dead, I HATED THAT ONE! (one that got the first toon outfit.) Why IT WAS A ECTOPLASTMIC GOOP CLONE! FAKE! Anyway been enjoying her book and the Trade of her coming alot.
What's with all the breast hate? As long as there's a good story to go with it, and it's not 90's bad girl, I'm all for it. That's right, I'm all for painted boobies.
