This is Spidey's Age of Apocalypse - I guarantee all will be undone in less than a year...

Stupid alternate timelines - go back to 'what if...' marvel!

I foresee a great many death cries after this hits for one Joe Quesada.

Personally I don't know what to think, Marvel Comics have so many years of convoluted history to deal with and their Ultimate titles are starting to head that way too I think they should quit while they're ahead and just make Comics based on the Movie Franchises. :lolol

Yeah, on this I definitely concur.
Man, it really was. Last truly great X-title story that I've read.

Even the vibe that it was a little rushed was generally undone by that follow-up story.

No. One was actually disappointing after you paid money for it, the other has disappointment written all over it thus saving you money.

I think the whole scenario is the very definition of "weaksauce".

Well that's ******ed. See this is why I hate western comics, they refuse to actually let the characters develop in anyway out of fear and have way too many guys writing them. Not to sound "wapanese" but JJBA is exactly the way comics should be done.

    Dear Marvel,

You suck and you fail...this is why I haven't read Spidey since The Other.

Well it's been about 10 years since the Clone Saga so I think it's time for a completely sucktacular Spidey Story. So long as it's only once a decade, I'm happy.

You forgot we've already had our decade quota for that. Sins Past was full of suck.

The open mindedness of this thread is astounding.

We have no idea if it will be undone in Brand New Day, the following story arc. This entire event could be planned to mess with fan boys. Like the "leaked" Phoenix image from Astonishing X-Men 6.

Jesus, you'd think you guys had stock in Spider-Man comics.

Whats that old saying about a duck lol...

And the 'leaked' Phoenix pic wasn't fooling anyone, and if they were fooled by it they should be ashamed to call themselves a comic fan (unless they were newbies).

IMHO, I believe fan outrage for current of everyones' friendly neighborhood Spidey is quite justified.

I don't even read Spider-Man. I just think it's incredibly stupid that Quesada is so hell-bent on undoing something that most readers don't even think is a problem, and is going to such insane and convoluted lengths to do so.

Man, Quesada just seems hellbent to make Spidey his own personal shit-rag, doesn't it?

I think the idea is well, not incredibly stupid, although it sure doesn't sound like a great idea, to say the least. But I'm willing to give any Spider-Man story a shot. It's been and awful book for about 15 years; with a high point of JMS's run and even that's debatable to a lot of people.

Like I said. This could be undone 2 months later in Brand New Day, or hell, the idea might pay off and have some really cool stories come from it. I hated the clone story line but it got me Ben Reily.

Joe Quesada has messed with fans several times when it comes to Spider-Man in the last couple years. I wouldn't be surprised if this is the same. If not, hopefully it's an enjoyable read.

Well considering that around that time we got Phoenix Endsong mini series... can't say I agree with you at all.

I don't think fan outrage is ever justified. Buy it or don't. And yeah, complain all you want, if you pay for it and hate it? You're more than entitled to your opinion; it's just this book isn't even out yet. I don't know, I just don't think this is a reason for anyone to shit themselves angry over it.

Yeah...you must of been one of the ones fooled then. I distinctly remember that entire story screamed return of Colossus in its build up.

I agree its never a reason to shit themselves(its just comics afterall), but at this point Marvel has proven themselves time and time again that they fail at thoguht decent storytelling. They now depend on shock value for shock's sake, crossovers, variant covers, and unnecessary deaths/returns.

C'mon, guy. Fan outrage, at least here, is pretty artificial. Yeah, it pisses people off. It's a character that we love--and after a fashion, have an emotional attachment to--getting the shaft.

I don't think it's keeping anyone up at night or anything, but if a comic isn't worth getting worked up about, it probably wasn't worth reading in the first place.
