I need some input. In my display case, I have a Reissue Bluestreak with no stickers. However, I just glued the roof on a junker I had that is in great condition, with all the stickers. It is an authentic "Pre rub" version with no "Hasbro" stamp on it. I ruled out removing the roof from the reissue and putting it on the authentic one because there is a screw under the sticker on the hood part that screws into the robot's head. I don't want to swap the whole works out because I prefer the robot head on the authentic one...not a big fan of the shiny red paint nor the color of the plastic on the reissue's robot head. I don't want to keep a backup, so my question the experts here is this. Should I: A. Keep the Reissue B. Keep the Repo'ed one Exhibit A: Exhibit B: Exhibit C: Exhibit D:
I'm no expert by any means but I think that the repaired one looks tons better since he has all his stickers, if it were me and I had to only keep one I'd say keep the vintage one.
I'd keep the vintage one, he just looks better for some reason, even if he was ithout the stickers he'd still be the one i'd keep, the plastic quality is just miles ahead. Hasbro's 1980's silver plastic > reissue silver
I actually think the reissue looks better....especially the head. Keep the reissue and buy some reprolabels....
Keep the original. that mold's reissues have lost a lot of the sharp details of the original, especially when it comes to the face. the metallic silver looks great on the original as well.
Why not just keep them both? They are small enough that you can keep one in storage, or display one in bot mode and the other in car. Thats just me though, but if I had to pick one, I would go with the original just because he is harder to get.
Tough call. I'd keep 'em both. Keep the vintage one in 'bot mode since he has all his stickers and keep the reissue in car mode since his roof isn't glued on. But, that's just me.
Keep the original. Not just because he looks better stickered, but because you fixed him yourself. Think about it, you put effort into him. I had my Snarl with both knees broken, my friend broke my Octane's right wing 15 years ago. I repaired both of them and I wouldn't give them up for anything. I would suggest getting enamel black paint and paint that reissue black on the hood to get the anime Bluestreak.
This thread has made me want to get an original now. I have the reissue, but the silver plastic looks so much better than the dull grey they used for the reissue. On a completely different note, I really like the plastic they have been using on the most recent movie toys, like Nightwatch OP and First Strike OP.
