All I'm interested in knowing about is what the actual quality of the thing is like. If I get one it will be for Bot mode only as the Alt has way too much "wrong" with it, but if the build quality is there I can live with this as a Robot.

So........is it solid? Is it Fanstoys or is it KFC?

    That's all.

All I know is that in the latest pics, there are gaps in the altmode panels, chipping paint along the windshield (were they trying to match Sideswipe that much?), and panel misalignment. Also not thrilled with the gap in the forearm.

I wonder if this is just Hasbro style mis-transformation pics, or if this is the quality.

Starting to think that I made a good decision cancelling my pre-order last week.

This last delay was supposed to fix the gap in the alt mode hood and any paint and tolerance issues .. I hope this is just the test shot we saw before they went into final production

I still can't fathom the knit-picky-ness. Mass produced, plastic toy, China, sweatshop, slave labor, um...... Yea! Still better better than BC's exploding transformation bayformer bullshit. And don't bank on TT coming through either. Shockwave is probably one of the most "no thought needed" bots to do and they royaly screwed that pooch.

This looks great. So pleased with the end result. Really hoping for some good quality on it.

These latest pics do not fill me with confidence. OK the general aesthetic of the robot is pretty nice, but the fit and finish look nowhere near the level of the top tier 3P companies. I see gaps, mould flash, poorly fitting parts, poor paint apps, certainly not at the level I was hoping for.
    Blah blah blah...first attempt...etc...yada yada.
I dunno, it must be really difficult, the learning curve for these things, it sure is a gamble backing these start-up 3P outfits.

This last round of pictures are mildly disturbing.

    But I'm not going anywhere.

Not the best pictures, and now I notice the arms gaps.

I still stand by my original assessment that if I took a Spinout and a Sunsurge, and smashed them so hard together that they fused, that would be the figure I'd want. Both have such potential, but also have points that just miss the bar.

Spinout looks like there's a lot of flaking going on at that hood. The gap is also very noticeable for the hood, but that could be fat finger transforming. I look forward to a proper review though before that judgment call. The legs, back end, and even I'll say the back of the bot mode look a lot better now than even previews a half year ago. Also, super clean on the transformation. Painted on vents...it's kind of glaring, but again, that's where Sunsurge gets things right. Since this is obviously two interpretations of a Lamborghini that has multiple real world variations, it's almost like "skirt or no skirt", with preference to the consumer.

    For me it looks like:
    Alt mode
    Front end - Sunsurge
    Back end - Spinout
    Sides - Sunsurge
    Top - Sunsurge

    Bot mode
    Chest - Spinout
    Legs - Spinout
    Back - Spinout
    Arms - Sunsurge
    Head - Spinout

Yeah, it would be really disappointing if this is the final fit and finish.

He looked pissed off in the fire photos :D

If it turns out the quality is bad, I guess I'll wait for a Takara. Nothing could make me bite on Sunsurge. I just hate SS.

If QC is bad, could you just buy him and display in 'bot mode as an untouchable statue? After all, that's basically how I view Apollyon, and I own him. Or does that make me a fool?

The way I see it, when you buy a Transformers, you're essentially paying for two toys in one (or three, for triple changers), which is often why they're so expensive. This is probably why it upsets people who can't transforms their toys.

But then again I never transformed Apollyon, Quakewave, Soundwave, Visualizer or Transistor, because their alt modes are so boring to me. Can't display them with other TFs because they're grossly out of scale. I guess I can run around the house with a toy gun and make pew pew noises :lol

I kind of want to be able to transform Spinout, because I want to pair him up Sideswipe and recreate that driving scene from More than Meets the Eye.

Yeah, makes sense. I don't transform my figures very often. Usually they are just too complex and I'm afraid of damaging them, and it takes me too long. And that's with the instructions and some Youtube guides to help me.

Wait a minute....?! Is there going to be a headmaster for this?! I'd BE ALL OVER THIS if it had the IDW Hunter Headmaster.

I see this thread lives down to its friendly reputation, and I guess nobody has an answer yet.

At least anyone I would listen to.

I don't think anyone has had it in hand yet.. We are all dying to hear about the build quality and I'm sure once someone gets a copy we will have video and pictorial reviews as well as opinions
