I saw this on another forum years ago and thought it might be fun to start up here. Let's all try to figure out those childhood games! I'll start...

Okay so one game I remember playing as a kid was on a demo disk from a computer gaming magazine probably mid to late 90's. I can recall is it was like a hover tank game. The demo level took place on this alien jungle planet. I know you could actually exit the tank and walk around. Any ideas?

This Xbox 360 indie game, it was a rip-off of Minecraft, but I think I played it more than Minecraft. It was really fun, it looked a little more "realistic", but it was still blocky characters and world. It randomly generated entire towns if I remember correctly. I don't remember much of it but I do remember deeply enjoying it.

A vampire with wings was betrayed by his peers and cast into the pit, where he mutated into a soul-sucking horror. It was on the Sega Dreamcast, I recall, and funny enough the stand-out memory there was a disembodied voice telling him that his ruined wings could still help him glide to reach places.

Yep, that is most definitely Soul Reaver.

Not sure about your game OP.

I don't think there are any video games I have ever played without knowing the title of.

One of my favorite arcade games of all time that made the transition to NES. For the longest time I could not remember the actual name of it.

Eventually, I figured it out and committed it to memory. It's also on the project list for building a cabinet for my basement.

In Summer '99, on vacation in Mexico, I found a video game arcade and found this fighting game. I started playing and I picked this wild jungle woman, kinda like a female Blanka from Street Fighter 2, and she had this low spin attack. It was all 2D with sprites

    That's all I can remember.

It was at the arcade and all I remember was that I was playing as a cat in a balloon. I don't think it was Felix.

Yeah I'm bummed I never took note of it. Pretty sure it was for Macintosh, but I was only 6 or 7, so I can't be certain.

A helicopter side scrolling game that let you play as a helicopter or a jeep. I remember playing it the late 90s but I think it was older than that.

There was a demo for a ps1 game that I absolutely loved as a kid and still wonder what it was. I remember that the level was pretty basic and you walked to an island that circled around, similar to banjo kazooie's spiral mountain. I can't seem to remember specifics, but I remember something about magic.

And another demo I remember having fun with was some wild kid that beat up enemies that were pigs and took place in a jungle. I think they were both on the same disc, too. I think his hair was pink.

Lastly, there was a ps1 final fantasy game that at one point you were fighting in a play that looked like a classic castle, then later in the game you're in a "beat enemies for points" contest. I remember that specifically because my brother was 1 second away from losing before a final, rare encounter that gave him some obsurd amount of points.

Did you play it on one of the Sony Demo Discs that came with the machine?

    Tomba?

    Saga Frontier?

Oh wait, you mean an actual Final Fantasy game? IF so, then that must be VI.

Good thought. I was looking for games that were on the PS1 demo discs.

    Tomba!!! That's definitely it!!
Maybe, but another detail I remember is that in the demo, the camera was panned out much farther than in that second screen shot. gonna look for videos of Jersey devil just to be sure
I remember it was on a demo disc, but when we got them, it was with a bunch of other demo discs.
No, it was a 3d game....maybe it wasn't a final fantasy game after all?
