So I bought a PSP last week finally. Lovely little system. So far only picked up GTA. I've also rented Fight Night Rd. 3, which was fun, but got boring quite quickly.

Basically, I dig Strategy or Adventure games. Some RPG's.

I tried playing Battlefront 2 instore on a PSP, and that was impossible. I'm too used to mouse and keyboard to ever get the hang of that, so FPS games are out.

I don't mind sports games, especially hockey, but they get old after awhile. And I'm not convinced Gretzky is a good hockey game (even if it's the only choice on PSP).

    So tell me what's good.

The best RPG is PoPoLoCrois. It's old school, sure, but it's a good one. Ridge Racer, WipeOut and Hot Shots Golf are the only sports titles that I've played, but all are solid titles.

PoPoLoCrois is a great RPG that doesnt get much attention.
Metal Gear Acid is a great strategic action title.
Armored Core: Formula Front is a fairly strategic game when you use the AI Training mode.

I also reccomend Megaman: Maverick Hunter X to everyone who owns a PSP, regardless of their interest in the series.

If you dig racers at all, then I recommend Burnout Legends (only if you haven't played BO 3 to death) and Ridge Racers. Wipeout is also really good. Right nolw, sports games are pretty much a wash. Gretzky was pretty aweful on both PS2 and PSP. If you like wrestling games at all, WWE Smackdown vs. Raw was surprisingly good. Plus there's always the excellent X-Men Legends 2. I haven't really played much beyond that. I'm hearing good things about Pursuit Force (got a good review at IGN).

I can reccomend Ridge Racer. Lumines is also great if you love puzzle games.

I'm playing Legend of Heros: Tears of Vermilion right now. It's got translation issues, but its been fairly fun so far.

I've got my eyes on Battelfield Commander, but it's been bumped back to the end of April last I heard.

Hot Shots Golf is great. Quick loading times and easy play. virtua Tennis is ok, and it is only $20. Burnout is good for racing if you haven't played the console versinos to death.

coming soon i will recommend Me & My Kantamari. Kantamari damacy to go. How can you go wrong?

I've heard Gripshift is good and i plan on picking it up. Plus now it is about $20 new.

Untold Legends is good. Has moderate load times, but no where near as bad as Smackdown. Smackdown is fun and good gameplay, just takes FOREVER to load the game. saw a video where they compared the time it took for Smackdown to load compared to Gripshift. In the time it took for SD to load they had completed a few lap, changed the car a bit, changed the charachter, built a quick track, etc. SD took SIX minutes to load.

I haven't played it yet but heard PQ is a good puzzle game and same for Mercury.

also there is a Capcom collection coming on the 28th. Worms is going back to old school with a game for the PSP. Looks good.

I'm *this* close to buying a PSP just to emulate Genesis games on it.

    Can it emulate SNES too?

    There's ways, yes. for both.

I don't know myself yet, but once I pick up a larger memory stick I plan on giving it a shot myself.

Do some research before you buy. Like I said, I haven't tried it myself yet. Don't know how exactly it works, or how well. Hopefully someone else can shed some light on that subject.

Daxter. If you like the Jak games on the PS2, this one you'll love. I got the demo at EB last night and am so getting this game. It should be out this month.

I've got Untold Legends, which I thought was kinda ho-hum. I like X-Men Legends II though for the PSP, I just don't like the load times. It plays exactly like the bigger console verisons and has more playable characters. Legend of Heroes is a pretty standard RPG.

I don't recommend Prince of Persia. It's buggy and the bugs are really annoying.

Jux, if you are getting a PSP just to emulate on, be sure to get one with 2.0 firmware or lower, otherwise you'll need GTA: LCS to run the emulators. 2.0 firmware and lower only needs an eBoot loader. I'd been running emulators on mine until last night. I had to update to play the demos and I don't have GTA and don't plan on getting it either.

I'm not sure if the new eBoot loaders will work without GTA or not. I haven't tried those yet. I'll have to see if I can dig up the guide to telling what firmware a PSP has by looking at the sticker on the box.

If you buy it for emulation and to play new games, expect a constant battle with Sony. They are constantly requiring users to upgrade the firmware in order to play new games. And by doing so, you can no longer play the emulators.

There are very tedious work arounds, but I got sick of fighting with them. I regret upgrading to play Smackdown. The emu community is very slow in cracking the firmware. The only solution right now is loading the emu through the GTA game save exploit, which isn't the best solution.

If you get a PSP, make sure it is firmware 1.5. That is the easiest to work with emus. They also have firmware changer to try and play new games on 1.5, but they often crash.

I miss my Zodiac :cry  It was awesome. It got stolen from my bag when I went to Vegas for my wedding.

http://pspupdates.qj.net/ for all of your psp emulator needs. It's kinda like zophar.net as they have all of the emulators, and how to run them on your PSP (all firmware up to 2.6) but no roms or means to play illegal UMD dumps. I run Genesis, SNES, and Neo Geo CD, and they all run great, almost perfect. As for good games RPG PoPoLo Cois, Legend of Heroes, and Ys are all good. As for other things I spent a lot of time with are Burnout Legends, Hot Shots Golf, and Ridge Racer were all fantastic.
