but seriously, whats the deal with sideswipe's crotch? (waits for jokes.....) im verry impressed with the figure overall, and look forward to picking him up, probly my fave of the new movie toys, but man every time i see a pic of him his pelvis just jumps out at me and screams "HEY LOOK DOWN HERE" (waits for more jokes......) i guess my question would be do you (yes you) as a transformers fan think the crotch detracts from the toy? do you like it? is it better in person? does anyone else feel this way? ... i guess thats more like 4 questions and secondly (or fifthly if you want to get technical (wich i most certianly do)) is it 2 ball joints in each hip? or does it just give the illusion of 2 balls (jokes anyone?) and socket joints? and how does this affect his articulation?
Firstly, I think it's one ball join per hip, fitted into a swiveling socket in the leg. Either way, it works well, in Sideways and in other recent molds. Secondly, you will bow down to Sideways' crotch. Yes, it is very, very red. It wouldn't be so weird if there were more red on him, but there isn't much. It helps a great deal if you paint in the details on his crotchal area, though, so you aren't just staring into a red abyss.
Are you talking about Sideways, or Sideswipe? Those extra balljointed bits on Sideswipe's pelvis are just detail peices. He's got standard balljoints that are molded in clear. The only thing that I notice about Sideways's crotch, is his wide set birthing hips.
I've been wondering if OP meant Sideswipe, with his "balljoint" cables. But I've never been personally affected by his crotch, so I wasn't sure. ;P For the record, because of his color scheme, wide hips, sleek leg design, and pushed out chest (complete with moveable breasts), I still say Sideways could just as easily have been a female mold.
