Vaccum metalized parts would be cool, but then you have to deal with easily worm chrome and chipping. Anyone remember Ultra class Beast Machines Jetstorm? >>>>SHUDDER<<<<

I'd rather just have metallic color paint applications. :)

    Welcome to the boards!

It's always possible that Animated or the new Classics might revisit Beast Wars. I'd not rule out the possibility of seeing Cheetor in Animated simply because A) his character would fit the style of the show, B) we've already got Blackarachnia, C) Blitzwing mentions accursed organic modes in the pilot, implying there are others like Blackarachnia out there.

At any rate, I agree the Transmetals were awesome, it would be nice for a couple of them (Megatron) to be reissued in less fragile plastics / with shiny paint rather than chrome that crumbles easily.

Most of my Transmetals aren't so transmetally anymore. :(

I put down my Jetstorm after the damage he took in storage. Terrible, terrible decay. But they were fancy.

I'm not sure how most of mine are holding up because they're in storage, but that era is probably my favorite from adult collecting. you know why? the figures were cool, the show was cool, and there was no internet in my life. so my first experiences with each figure was stumbling upon them in the toy section, as opposed to knowing about a figure 6 months before it comes out, then getting bored with prototype pictures and stuff of it, and playing the waiting game trying to find them when they do come out. there's a lot to be said about spontaneity.

Transmetal toys ARE cool, they make up about 90% of my Beast Wars collection!

A couple of them have suffered from the old flaking chrome though...

They should reissue them, but without the chrome, just metallic paint.

    "...accursed, organic mode of yours."

Sounds to me like he's just mentioning BA specificaly. There's nothing in his 1 (cold) line to suggest there are more than one organic robots.

Nevertheless, I wouldn't put it past them to included other BW TF characters. Animated is so vast, and has (hopefully) many seasons to come that pretty much anything is possible. (They seem to be going all-out with TF:A)

I never cared for Transmetal Rattrap. All the others, fine, liked them.
Megatron needs a reissue in something less fragile.

Also, I would also throw Cheetors name into the hat for Animated/Universe, he seems to be very popular at the minute, and Hasbro has used him a fair bit recently too.

Transmetals were defiantely pretty cool. Most of the Transmetals 2 were atrocious though (Depth Charge, Megatron, Dinobot and Ramulus excluded. They rocked)

You know, I'd almost consider Takara Classic Grimlock a Transmetal. He's got as much Chrome on him as TM Cheetor or Rattrap. He just doesn't have organic features in robot mode.

    psh, Transmetal 2's were cooler!

I dont own many vintage BW figures, I have a lot of the Universe/Armada repaints that didnt use the chrome. One of the few vintage ones I do have is the Botcon repaint of Jetstorm, naturally the exclusive nature makes me more worried about his chrome then I would for a normal figure, but I havent noticed any thus far. Very little on Cryotek as well. (then again, I guess they arent as old as their predecessors)

Transmetals were great. Sadly they (literally) did not age well, with the flaking chrome and Megatron's "gold plastic syndrome" in brown.

As much as I wanted an original Rattrap when Hasbro was doing the 10th anniversary reissues, It's nice to see a shiny new TM Ratty. Hope this one holds up a little better over time.

I agree, Beast Wars is also my favorite TFs series. The Transmetals season of BW is also the best one, not so much TMs 2. Unfortunately, the series only ran for three seasons... one more would have been nice.

Anyway, I think this thread needs a link to some BW galleries.

The Transmetal figures were so cool. Their design was just soo awesome! I think my favorite was Transmetal Tarantulas... although I think they all looked a lot cooler as Transmetals.
