Update on MPM-6: I got my replacement
OH PRIMUS IS IT A GOOD REPLACEMENT
Does that one tab together better? Lol.
I haven’t been able to open him out of box but all indications are that he does
I love that weirdly colored guy! He's just such a unique piece in my collection! Congrats on getting something great!
I won’t lie I’m really happy Hasbro didn’t just send 2 Leader classes or something. Plus I don’t have to preorder the MP-13 rerelease since I now have the mold
And you get five cassettes instead of one!
Nothing new at the Lewis Center Walmart, Meijer or Polaris Target.
I'm gonna check South Zanesville in a little while but I don't expect to see much of anything.
Picked up Red Alert thanks to Big Boy Collectables, on my copy there’s no mold deterioration as well as a significantly less amount of battle damage in case anyone was considering him
Just picked up wfc Springer at the Athens Walmart. They had absolutely nothing left except a AFC Starscream and the new X-Men wave 0f marvel legends.
Got one of those in Youngstown, mine is a good bit loose in vehicle mode, had to trim the door panels a bit so he'd close up properly, but ultimately it's because he's lacking the paint that Sideswipe has, which is why this mold is loose like this. They left room for the thickened application. He's solid enough, though.
Got one this morning in Cortland (North of Youngstown/Warren/Niles) the other sold quick, just before mine this morning. 2x Starscream left.
Awesome. How is he? I’ve got him on preorder through Pulse with free shipping and the $5 off coupon so I don’t plan to hunt him in stores.
Colerain's pretty dry. The Walmart by the Ronald Reagan exit is dry, but the other Walmart has a single Red Alert. The Target as the SS Battle Damaged Megs if anyone's still looking for that.
Loose joints appear to be random on figures I hear about. Mine has some ankles that don't feel lost unless you try to stand him upright. They just aren't big enough for his backpack or weight. Other reports indicate knees are problems.
Siege Springer is an absolutely fantastic G1 rendition. Colors, angles, details. But minor things keep him down. On mine, for example, the clips that hold the leg together while in car mode are really tight and there is no real angle to untab them at. When I got tired of pulling and pushing, I just brute-forced it and one of the clips now has a big stress mark and will probably need some good reinforcing or it won't survive another transformation.
He's a solid figure on his own merits. And while it will come down to individual tastes? I kind of still prefer T30- he is easier to swap between alt modes on the go, while this one still takes some fiddling and that may just come down to practice and habit. There is a lot of tiny angles and bits that you have to line up just so in order to swap modes. You get the hang of them, but they are a bit of a chore at first. I love him. But only a bit less than T30. And as an IDW V1.0 fan, that one is still the most fitting for my shelves.
All the same? I won't take much shit-talking about this figure lying down.
Just grabbed a Springer from the Walmart in Delaware so the Columbus area should be getting them soon if not already
And I sold it to you. Lol
I felt really bad about it too.
Okay question on Springer: if you are on the edge is it worth it? I don’t care for Springer as a character but I kind of like that his blocky G1 design is back
My copy has pretty sturdy ankles, but ALL of the tabs are horribly stressed. I think this figure will be worth a pretty penny down the road due to broken vs unbroken tabs. I will give T30's version that much, it's not an issue you have to worry about, with him. That said, this is the superior Springer figure, IMO. The old one doesn't hold together well in helicopter mode, the panels tend to stick as he ages and this one... Once you figure out the ins and outs of his transformation, this Springer just kind of owns everything else. And because it's animation accurate and it's affordable, it beats 3rd party stuff and I say that as a fan of O&P's version.
Worth it. It's a solid and sort of complex toy.
