More House would be a great thing. More Heroes would be a great thing.

Everyone in this thread is saying 'Lost' WTF is Lost? I've never heard of it.

If it weren't for The Office and Lost...I could give a damn. They're are plenty of good writers looking for a break in Hollywood. I'd be happy letting them have a crack at it.

Well hopefully with all this time off some of these writers might actually learn how to write. If anything, this strike has really pointed out how abyssmal most TV is in the first place. Late night hasn't really suffered and alot of the shows that are getting the axe deserved it. Hopefully these guys can make up for some recent disasters like season 2 of Heroes.

Doubtful, I don't think that the writing will be any better with the time off, maybe they need better writers?

On one hand the world has seemed like a happier better place knowing people like Micheal Bay can't make movies. Ouch, and the junk that keeps coming out of Hollywood with no end. Doesn't even seem like it matters if a film is actually any good but just can you run enough ads to get enough buzz to get people in the seats. I mean tell me I'm not the only one with a bad feeling about films like Jumper.

On the other hand it seems like a few crazy film makers are left out there with the idea of movie as art rather than movie as just cashing in on something. So even if it's only one of ten or one of twenty movies that's actually good maybe it's time to go back to mining for rare gem buried in all the over hyped Hollywood pooh.

Then there's having some stuff back on TV.

Then there are is the livelyhood of the people that can't help if the director, writers, or actors are hacks, they still put in the long days to get the films done.

Guess the happy no Micheal Bay days are almost over and back to hoping the writers will actually come up with something that doesn't seem like it came off of toilet paper this time.

Just too bad the writers deal doesn't involve the writers actually writing good movies or good shows to get paid instead of what ever I still get paid.

Well, of course Jumper's gonna suck. But looking back on 2007 and No Country For Old Men, There Will Be Blood, Michael Clayton, American Gangster, Into the Wild, Ratatouille, etc...it becomes really hard to make a case that no one writing films knows what they're doing.

It doesn't make everyone in Hollywood a talentless hack because you're seeing things like Jumper, Norbit, or AVP2. The good product is out there.

Yea it's the well written films with lots of character and story that keep me from totally saying I just give up on Hollywood. So it will be nice to have the strike over for those films where you can still throw yourself into instead of having to shut your mind off to enjoy.

Would be nice though if other writers picked up the writing a bit. I mean just because it's an action film or another type of film that the Oscars will snub it's nose at does that really mean the writing must be bad?

Oh well I guess it's like books, comic books, video games, and all the other ways we find to entertain ourselves you have to take a mix of good and bad. Maybe it's the bad that makes the good seem so much better?

What? There was a strike? Raw and Smackdown still runs. The football season didn't stop. NBA is still playing games. NASCAR started on time. What kind of strike are you talking about. MLB and NHL strike again? Those greedy jerks!

By the Matrix! The Strike is over? Woot! (Happy Dance). Now we can have better written episodes (hopefully) of HEROES, VOL.3.

That was freakin' hillarious! Its probably the first time I've ever laughed at something on one of those Late Night Shows at all.
