Either one of these 2 things is happening :

    1. Hasbro is gauging interest in CDs or digital sales of G1 music by monitoring their YouTube channel data.

    2. Hasbro is slow releasing all the G1 music though their YouTube channel as they think it's not worth their time to sell it as a CD or digitally.

I hope for #1 but I fear #2 is the right answer.

I have the soundtrack for Season 1 and 2. I maintain that even as much as I like G1, my nostalgia shouldn't be mistaken for thinking that the comics or cartoons were all that good. They had good spots, but what's notable is how our own minds fill in the gaps. We wanted them to be good, and we remember them with more fondness than they earned on their own merit.

One of the notable exceptions is the music. The production value of having a whole orchestra creating these soundbeds blows my mind. It's unthinkable today when most television (and movies) are scored by one person with a Korg. The score is just exceptional. Especially when you consider how many animation errors they never seemed to be concerned about.

...just about everything was scored with a real orchestra back then: it was a much larger industry, so economies of scale were off the chart compared to today...

...television scores were fast and cheap-enough for everyone to do it as standard practice, a carry-over from the days of live radio performance...

Download it for free and burn it on a disc. Thats what I did. The hell with milenial ear buds and streaming. Im bringing back noise pollution with the subwoofers in the trunk of the car. CDs never go out of style. But im not gonna lie, paying for CDs did go out of style.

...and that's why the market disappeared, despite superior sound quality and durability...

Honestly I cant tell the difference between CDs and MP3s they all sound the same to me. Im a music fan not a sound scientist. But I think I bought my last CD in like 2010 because it finally sunk into my head, why am I still helping make these musicians rich while Im working a 9-5 ? F**k em. We make them, they dont make us. Since then I just download. I think the best invention ever was youtube to MP3 online conversion sites.

It cost nothing to throw it on iTunes though? Except maybe Apple getting a cut of the profits?

So far it was only a vinyl release. I don't believe official MP3 are out there yet...

Since they are things with YT, it has to be a digital version of the whole thing.

I'm hoping at some point they tackle other series OST's.

I'd love to have the Beast Wars, Animated, Prime, RID and Cyberverse soundtracks in their entirety.

Anyone else feel it\'s weird this track is elements of danger and it\'s showing the hate plague while right now in real life there\'s a pandemic  going around and people are  being quarantined?

they really timed this one hasbro

Man. They are choosing some of the most boring pieces to highlight. The soundtrack to the show is great in general, but most of my favorites are from seasons 2 and 3 and overlap with the GIJoe soundtrack. Maybe that’s the problem.

Define animation errors? Because you do know those errors more than double since their DVD release. I still have all the season 1 VHS and some season 2 and 3 recorded from the 80s and some of those errors aren’t there.

I knew that was true for season 1, it’s also true for seasons 2 and 3? Can you give an example? Thanks.

Sometimes I wish you could watch the whole show with a music-only option. That would be neat.

Ok off the top of my head 5 faces of darkness has error throughout the whole series even sound errors, like dialogue missing from Perceptor telling the shuttle ( that was a booby trap) to land, the sound for the opening title has none of the sound fx that it’s supposed to have. In season 2 there’s some color problems in a couple of episodes but nothing to the magnitude of season 1 errors. In all seriousness I’ve been thinking of starting a blog with all of these comparisons.
