Anyone know if they've done promos like this before how long before you get the gift card / does it work if you add it to your stack? Ideally I'd want to add to stack and then use giftcard to preorder something else, then all ship together...

If my memory serves me correctly, they add the gift card to your account after the item ships. I do remember that the gift card does not show up in the cart when ordering.

Edit: I got a gift card added from a previous deal and it shows in my account, but forgot the exact timing when they added it. Think it was a week long deal so for the amount added to my account after the week was over and my item shipped. Thus my confusion on exactly when the gift card amount was available.

That sounds right to me, too. I think they did it on a holiday sale over a year ago if you spent so much... I think it didn't show up until after order shipped so you couldn't cancel the item after getting the gift card and so you had to do another order to redeem it, (kind of like when you can't use a store coupon on the same day issued).

How it worked for me last time, I got $10. So when a pre-order in my stack came in stock, the $10 was deducted automatically.

Walmart clearance is variable store-by-store. I once picked up a whole stack of Fire Emblem collectors edition games on clearance the day they came out. The manager just didn't want them in his store. No one believed me, and when I showed them the receipt they got mad. And then there was that whole giant Millennium Falcon debacle years ago where the same thing happened. Fans were finding the brand new, $150 ship on endcaps for $30. Other fans were calling up the managers of those stores and threatening to call the cops if they didn't raise the price. "I can't find it at all, and you have an endcap on clearance!" followed my my favorite phrase in the English language. "tHaTs NoT fAiR!!!1!!"

Walmart clearance is not a sale and cannot be replicated.
