Target (and other retailers who two months ago were expecting increased toy sales this and last month in what has traditionally been the 2nd largest sales season for toys) is probably going to have to be more creative than normal in trying to move plastic from the shelves during these unique times.

 

Target sale kinda sucks...they'd have to actually stock some toys. Can't get a discount on what they don't have.

 

If only Target's online offerings weren't so barren.

 

Too bad I already bought all the new Studio Series figures I wanted. I knew I could have waited for this sale but I got too impatient.

Unless the sale applies to pre-orders and I can use this on Sentinel Prime and Topspin.

Oh boy, let’s not start that discussion again.

The summarized highlights are:
1) you can if you have the receipt, and it’s within a certain period of time as indicated on the receipt.
2) There was/is likely some target policy that not all employees at the customerservice desk follow, so your mileage may vary on whether the target you visit will let you return and immediately repurchase with other items to get you over the $50 or $100 threshold needed to earn the discount (that is, if your returns’ value weren’t already over either amount).
3) Some people on these threads question the integrity/ethics of someone using this return policy to get a discount that might be up to 3-months after the original purchase and
4) some people find no problem with the return/repurchase to receive the discount, and have no problem voicing/typing that option here... in this thread, about current coupons & deals.
5) many people and site admins would prefer those discussions take place elsewhere.

So there you have it... I’m sure if you did a search within this thread you’ll find one of the numerous back and forths that took place about that very topic over the years. The only difference is that now Targets more broadly might not accept returns at all because of the covid19 stuff; but again, ymmv if the customer service rep knows you’re not actually leaving it in the story for them, but immediately rebuying.


In other news, eBay bucks were released today, they expire on 5/2 11:59pm PST, so just before 3am on the east coast’s morning of 5/3. I’ll probably hold out on using it as most likely by the end of the month ebay will do a paltry 5% or 8% deal... maybe even 10%; but we’re looong last the days of getting 15% or 20% off flash sales (ugghhh, and without being charged taxes... those were some days alright).

I don't recall seeing this mentioned but Walmart, or at least mine, has Cyberverse warrior figures on sale for $11.92. I just picked up Hammerbyte, which is actually pretty nice.
