What if I attempted this purchase next week at Target:

Leader Class Ultra Magnus + Deluxe Class Impactor + Deluxe Class Mirage

Could I apply the 25% off coupon to Ultra Magnus and get Mirage for free?

Or would Target force the coupon onto Mirage which I would get for free anyway?

Usually the coupon goes towards the most expensive item. And it is for 1 item, not multiple. Magnus would get the 25%. Mirage would be full price. If you want to think of Mirage as being cheaper, that's up to you. Although Magnus (at full price) would be just $12.50 cheaper so that wouldn't cover a deluxe.

I know in the past, not knowing how a coupon would be applied, I've bought the item I want the discount on separately, just to be sure it is applied to it.

They're asking about what would happen if they used the 25% coupon in conjunction with the B2G1 deal Target's running next week. They're not saying the 25% discount would make Mirage free.

I'm still trying to figure this discount out.

The deal is live on the website, so I tested it with three Studio Series deluxes:
    - They're already on sale for $17.99 each. The 25%-off coupon brings one down to $13.49 (not bad!)
    - Two would be $31.48 (one 25%-off and the other full price).
    - Adding a third shouldn't change the price, since it would essentially be adding a free item, BUT, the total comes to $32.98. Where did the other $1.50 come from?
    - I checked the "buying three of the same item turns it into a 33% discount on all three" theory, which would have a total of $36.15 ($12.05 each). If the 25%-off is taken from that $12.05 price, the total should then be $33.13. SO, what is actually happening there?

EDIT: Don't get me wrong, three deluxes for $33 instead of $60 is AMAZING, but my brain needs the math to check out, haha.

I didn't know about the deal when I answered.

For the above, tax I guess. $17.99 + 13.49 (17.99 & 25% off) = $31.48 + 5% tax brings it to $33.05 Close to what you had. No idea what your tax is in your area. Did you use a RED CARD? Put that into the mix. Using that. $31.48 and 5% = $29.90 & 8% tax (my local tax) = $32.30

Looks like the 25% off is deducted from regular price 19.99, so it's 14.99 plus 17.99 = 32.98.

Dunno... I'd just use the 25% off for one high priced item, like jetfire, rainmakers, or the micromasters set, and just do the buy 2 get one free on three deluxes to maximize savings.

Or just do it in store so the cashier can give you 31.48 for three deluxes?

Yeah. I’m playing with this. Incidentally, 3 items is cheaper than 2 if one is more expensive than the other 2 but you also don’t get a full 25% off the most expensive one.

You would have to check the fine print on the coupon, does it say can't be combined with any other offer/promotions? They usually say something like that.

yes, i've verified that it works - not because i deleted anything and was trying to get it back (i think you're the only one who's done that, haha!), but because i wanted to see if it's possible to get another coupon...

but turns out it's 1 coupon per phone # (they just keep sending you the same coupon), so if you want more you can always ask friends and family to use their phones instead... ;)

... but thanks guys for posting.
I just picked up a ratchet last week... perhaps I’ll pick up another one to paint & mimic the TFcon custom class.

My customizing skills are probably at the level of unintentional battle damage, so it might fit right in line with the siege paint. :lol

Today in a Target store, I was able to use the 25% off on one toy online coupon in conjunction with the B2G1 sale and the snail-mail coupon for a $10 gift card back with a $50 toy purchase. Not bad. If Target’s selection wasn’t terrible, it would’ve been better.
