Strange set... 1 CHUG, 1 Movieverse and 3 Prime figures. And "Hot Spot" looks like a Grapple repaint, as opposed to using the uhm, er, Hot Spot retool...

So, I'm already taking notes on customization options,
First Aid rocks his mold but needs a new head and more Red,But I can see why they didn't add the red.


Groove is dissapointing, Too similar to Arcee but it's nice to see him IN SCALE,
I'll just paint him black... But I'm not sure how I feel of him being female. It's a new twist for sure.


Streetwise, Shit.. I already have a Streetwise from AM Smokescreen,
Very Blue and undetailed. But okay.

Hot Spot/Zone, Red? It's nice and all but I'll just stick my GDO Hot Spot, Still a buy.

Blades, That mold is terrible... And the deco comes close... Still a buy.


I think Reprolabels is going to have a field day with these.


I would also like to point out we have 3 deluxes and one voyager, If Groove had used the Deluxe arcee mold... Well we could figure out how to make this thing Combine. Oh well...

Looks like, where the Prime molds are concerned, they just straight poured the molds again and only changed up the paint masters. Neat in concept, Protectobots are starved for recognition. But I'll let these pass me by.

So... uh... its just a matter of time before we get a Generations Road Hauler out of that Grapple mold. Right?

 

That's out of nowhere but cool.

 

Protectobots!!!! Hells yeah!!!! Though Hot-Spot kinda looks like Fire-Chief (the red Hot-Spot) from the Guard City set...

 

Neat idea, but Groove is the wrong color (and gender), plus folks would be better off with using GDO Hotspot and Universe Blades instead of what is pictured for the set.

 

Can someone with TFP Ratchet, Legends Arcee, Prowl, GDO Hotspot (or Grapple/Inferno/the likes), and ROTF Evac (or the likes), post up a picture. That way we'll know how the scale looks like together. Thanks in advance.  

 

This is pretty weird. Other than Blaze Master, none of these toys are colored all that differently from their original versions, so these just look like slighlty different Ratchet, Arcee, Prowl, etc. to me....

Either way, it's really weird Hasbro's apparently mixing and matching 'old' molds to make sets. I think it's smart that they're utilizing their already existing library of toy molds, just not sure on the execution so far...  

 

This is almost a tribute to a Protectobots KO set that was sold in walgreens, Family Dollars and other stores in the 1990's and early to mid 2000's/

dam, interesting concept but bad execution. Just not enough there to buy it if you already own these molds.

 

Very nice indeed. I won't get it as I already have al these moulds and Maketoys will eventually have me covered for all my Protectobot needs, but it's nice to see them get their recognition finally. But 'Street-Smart' Hasbro? Really? You're sticking Protectobot in front of it anyway, did it really need changing from Streetwise?

Even though I don't normally get Prime molds I might have to get First Aid and Streetwise. Hot Spot is kinda interesting, wish they could use the G2 colors or a white/silver combo if they can't rework the colors of the GDO version enough.
