Found this at work last night. Looks to be an image of the actual release of Sunstorm (and not the custom version found a while back).



I personally think the colors used make him look like MP Ronald McDonald, but that's just me.

Looks OK, but I prefer the Takara one. I was waiting to see how this one turned out, but I think I might make the plunge on the Takara now. Not a fan of the use of red on the waist and knees.

And good job on the Transformation, Hasbro!

I like it, as it's very different than Takara's. Not better mind you, as Takara's is nicer.

I do like some of the weirdness of it with the brown helmet and such.

Holy shit, that is bad. Where does Hasbro get its ideas? Do they take black/white line art of a Takara release, hand it to a two year old along with a box of crayons, and then hope for the best? Do they even care if they sell any of these?

Ugh. How do you mess up Sunstorm? They had to try to get it that bad.

 

It doesn't look that great but I'll take what I can get..

 

Hasbro's descent into madness continues.

 

Something tells me this is not the official look that will be released.

Has more the early test shot/retailer photo look to it, as in unfinished.

 

The more people that hate this, the easier it will be for me to get it..

 

Why would they need a test shot? The original release has been around for some time now, so it seems to me that pictures of MP-11S would serve as test shots if any were needed. This pic indicates that the look of the figure has been altered radically, even if this is not the 100% final product.

 

I'll get it, but man does he look not so good.

 

I'd be surprised if you're right. Looks like what they'll likely put out.

Their decos on the Seekers haven't been too great since 2007.

I mean Starscream's was white instead of light gray and his blue was too dark.
Skywarp was nice but he could have been better (purple feet for example).
Thundercracker was just the Generations deco applied to the bigger figure, and had tampos that a lot of people didn't like.
Acidstorm had an inconsistent look and some details (like his eyes) could have been better.
Sunstorm's deco is very random and seems mostly made up.

There was NO way it was going to be a straight Takara release, way too much paint. The Takara release is pretty much my favorite deco - but this one is kinda neat too

 

Also, to all the people hating this, I've got a funny feeling it will be growing on you just like Acid Storm did. Sure this is random but also what makes it kinda fun.

That said, I don't need two creamsicle seekers but if I didn't have Takara's I'd prolly grab this as I suspect it's wonkiness will go great with Acid Storm.
