Extremely looking forward to this. I am interested to see if I will like this or Smart Robin better. As long as Voyager Brainstorm turns out well, there is room for both of them!

Brainstorm is one of my top bots. Gotta get this one. bot mode looks pretty smooth, space ship mode maybe not as much, but I've seen worse.

If Toyworld's Brainstorm takes a price drop like their hardhead has i may soon have 3 Brainstorms. (FP, TW, HAS) I usually try to stick to one modern era of each character, but ill make an exception with this dude.

Yeah, it's a handsome figure, and I like how sharp the colors look, but from a transformation perspective, it doesn't seem particularly ambitious or technically impressive. I usually want better altmodes, but it's not enough to ruin an otherwise excellent figure.

So long as it all locks together and isn't a floppy mess I should be happy with it

Cool! I love this idea! I don't see Hasbro making something like Fansproject Sigma L (unfortunately... prove me wrong, Hasbro!), but I can see Hasbro making some sort of BatSpaceship (R: lol) paying homage to the original G1 Mindwipe (and including elements of ROTF Mindwipe). That would be a freaking awesome repaint/retooling of Generations Brainstorm.

I am not following the comics, but Hasbro has indeed been releasing figures related to IDW universe... Who are the headmasters in the IDW comics?

Sunstreaker and Scorponok. Though, Sunstreaker is a former Headmaster now. Can't say one way or the other about Scorponok. Ultra Magnus locked him up in an ultramax prison years ago, he hasn't been seen since.

...though we're now getting glimpses into Cybertron's distant past, circa some 10 million years ago (?) and there was a sect of Transformers that were called Headmasters -- Galvatron murders pretty much all of them.

Hasbro's inability to design a decent jet for an alt mode strikes again.

What about Gen Armada Starscream? Or the FOC Seeker mould? Or the shitload of other jetformers with good alt modes?

Sorry, but no. At least not in my mind. Keep in mind that I'm a Macross fan where the jet alt modes have no inkling of robot parts or kibble on the undercarriage.

FP Smart Robin? Now that's a TF themed figure that has a good jet alt mode.

I am surpirsed... just Sunstreaker and Scorponok?? I thought at least Chromedome and Brainstorm were recently in the comics...

I am also a big Macross fan (in fact, I am a fan of robots with airplanes/jet/spaceship modes in general), but when I just want to mess a little with a figure, in a quick break from work, most of time I end up grabbing a Hasbro figure like ROTF Mindwipe or Generations Armada Starscream. Hasbro figures are just fun while most of Macross figures from Yamato or Bandai are more display pieces (big exception is the classic and eternal 1/55 Chunky Monkey).

Sure, they're fun when I just want to fiddle with something but in terms of engineering and design, they just don't do it for me. Again, this is because Macross has absolutely destroyed my tolerance for an aesthetically beautiful jet mode.

It's one of the reasons why I love Smart Robin because he has a great jet mode and you can fiddle with it like a regular Transformer.

I understand that Hasbro has all sorts of constraints but from a purely aesthetic aspect, I find their jet modes just blah.

The exception being the MP Seekers, which ironically, had a lot to do with Kawamori. :lol

FP Assaulter looks like shit in all modes. It's a hit or miss sometimes with all companies. I can still stomach the price of Hasbro's official Brainstorm.
